Hello, I put $10 on my steam account and I am trying to buy 100 coins (I forgot the name). But every time i try to add 100 coins it said there is no steam overlay. I check the properties through steam and do have the Steam Overlay checked.

Are you running PoE in DX9 or DX11 mode? Try DX9 or DX9ex if you're running in DX11. Right now DX11 is quite buggy in PoE and lacks a lot of what we've come to take for granted in the DX9 client.

Hey there!
I would suggest that you try launching the Path of Exile Steam client as an Administrator, as well as Steam.exe/Steam overlay as an Administrator. If you are running the game as an Administrator but not Steam itself, Steam overlay may not be able to operate with all of the permissions it needs.
You can set your Steam.exe to run as Administrator by doing the following:
- Exit Steam
- Navigate to the Steam installation folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\ by default)
- Right-click on Steam.exe, then select 'Run as administrator'
Hopefully this helps to fix your issue! You're always welcome to email in to us here at support@grindinggear.com (or techsupport@grindinggear.com for technical issues such as these that affect your gameplay or the use of the client) if you have any further problems.

can't the game detect if it runs itself in admin mode and quit if it doesn't.
doesn't the steam api have a way to check if it runs as admin?

GameOverlayUI.exe (part of Steam) can't detect it if Steam & PathOfExile aren't ran with the same privileges.

Hey guys I also had the same issue.
I did everything from enabling steam overlay to uninstalling and redownloading PoE.
I finally found a fix for me. MSI afterburner was causing the issue as soon as I closed my MSI Afterburner I was able to use my steam wallet to make in game purchases and access my steam overlay.
Hope this helps.
