Two hand or 1 hand axe on marauder??
I'm relatively new to this game (got a few low lvl characters) and I was wondering which is more effective/efficient?
I'm running a two hand right now and plan to get to the Never miss passive asap, so keep that in mind! No one? Cmon someone has to have some help for me :( I don't want to spec a lot of points into one tree and find out that the other is superior! Last edited by Nephrael#2782 on Jan 31, 2012, 10:08:15 PM

Dual wielding 2-handed axes and going for the Ice Inoculation keystone is the way to go right now.

"We all have to learn on our own sometime. Really neither is superior to the other, it's all about playstyle. The great thing about the skill tree is that almost anything can work if you're determined enough. |

"\ yeah, but how about spending hours into a character in diablo 2 only to find out he cant survive past nightmare because you spece'ed him wrong. I'm not trying to make you "tell me how to play" I'm just trying to make sure im not screwing my character in the long run. I'm all for experementing, but I just wanted to make sure one wasnt useless |

" This is one of the advantages and causes to me for playing the beta: time to test out some things, to learn about the built in mechanics and so on, to make it right (or what I decide to be right) when the "real" game starts at open or release. Mind swapping is never a bad idea, but its useless to copy from someone else by 100% what not fits my playstyle, even if its "right". invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

Again, neither is superior to the other. You can use a hard hitting two hander or dualwield one handers with greater attack speed and kill just as effectively with either. If you go 1h and shield, you'll kill a bit slower but you'll take less damage. Granted, your skill options change with the weapon but there really aren't any inferior methods.

kk That's pretty much what I had gathered, so least I know I'm on the right track! I'm going with a two hander for my build. Also do any of you happen to know if a two handed weapon benefits from "dual wield" spheres on the grid? I know thats a little bit of a stretch, but just curious

Staff AoF Mara: http://poezone.ru/skilltree/#3
2H Mace AoF Mara: http://poezone.ru/skilltree/#4 For both get more endurance charges if you need more Damage reduc. You can get more of the close mace dmg% nodes instead of life% and life regen if you so desire (but I highly recommend against doing that) Last edited by Sanctum#7752 on Feb 1, 2012, 1:54:48 PM

Two handed weapons only benefit from 2h passives and weapon specific passives.
Dual wielding, on the other hand, benefits from dual wield passives, weapon passives, as well as 1h passives. |
