[2.5/2.4] Lumpy Golem Princess (A Tri-Golem Elementalist)
Greetings exiles! I had meant to write this guide during Essence league after I had taken down the Shaper, but alas I was unable to meet my goal before the league ended. In the primer that is to follow, I will detail my exploits and many variant options for my personal favorite character since beginning my journey in Wraeclast - the Lumpy Golem Princess.
![]() Lumpy Golem Princess is an Elementalist that goes to absurd lengths to capitalize on the Liege of the Primordial ascendancy passive. ![]() +1 to Maximum number of Golems 40% increased Damage of each Damage Type for which you have a matching Golem Your Elemental Golems are Immune to Elemental Damage 100% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Elemental Golems We start with a lightning skill - in this case, Ball Lightning - and then fully convert our lightning damage to cold damage, which is then fully converted to fire damage. The end result is that any increases to a single element's damage is the same as total increased damage. With the trio of elemental golems (fire, ice, and lighting), we get 120% increased elemental damage just for existing. Pros and Cons
Spoiler
Pros: -Nifty tri-golem setup. That's THREE golems. Golems, thrice summoned! -Smooth cast speed / movement speed. -Automated golem summoning minimizes upkeep mid-fight. -Edgy, nonmeta build featuring carefully crafted synergies and GOLEMS. -Is an absolute joy for general mapping. Cons: -Mediocre single target damage with Ball Lightning Area enchant. -Mediocre clear speed with Ball Lightning Projectile Speed enchant. (Can be handled with a helmet swap, but that's expensive) -Damage drop dramatically when golems are killed. -Edgy, nonmeta-viable clear speed build. -Struggles against the game's hardest content. Guardians are doable. Shaper seems unlikely. Now, to jump right into the build:

This is the item that lets you summon a third golem after Liege of the Primordial. Since you can equip it at level 41 provided sufficient strength, it is possible for the build to hit its stride by the end of Normal mode with its first ascension. During the Essence League, before the advent of The Anima Stone, it was absolutely essential for the build. A good dagger or wand could arguably be better than a mostly useless weapon and a third golem, but we wouldn't be a Lumpy Golem Princess without the trifecta, now would we? These are how we convert our lightning damage fully into cold. As far as I'm aware, this is the only way to make this happen, so a pair of Call of the Brotherhood are absolutely mandatory. We eventually shift into Chaos Inoculation and run off of pure energy shield, so a way to prevent stuns is absolutely necessary. If you're fortunate enough to own a pair of Skyforth, then you can use that instead and free up one of your precious jewelry slots. Optional/Recommended Uniques
Spoiler
We want to run Discipline, Warlord's Mark, and a second curse, ideally Enfeeble or Temporal Chains. Heretic's Veil sacrifices some survivability through a low energy shield contribution in exchange for a massively alleviated mana reservation from curses. Death's Door is a tricky item to evaluate. Bleeds are some of the most dangerous degens in the game, but elemental statuses hit us hard when we have a maximum life of 1 with CI. Make sure your flasks are able to handle ignites and freezes, else prepare to have a swift death ahead of you. Skyforth is the real dream for boots, since you can make up for their lack of resistances with a real amulet, but that item is well beyond the reach of most players (myself included.) Rumi's Concoction is just a great defensive flask, and Dying Sun is an absolute dream for clear speed. The extra projectiles can't each hit the same target at the same time, so it's not a single-target DPS increase, but it buffs our fire resistance, aiding against elemental reflect enemies, and if you aim close to yourself you can cover an entire screen with lighting. The early levels are pretty simple. You'll be leveling a slightly awkward hybrid energy shield/life build and focusing primarily on lightning damage to scale your DPS. Level 41 (i.e. where shit gets real)

You get 8 passive respec points from your quests in Normal mode. Use them to reconfigure your passive tree, along with any Orbs of Regret you have to spare if need be. This is the moment where the build goes live and you get to enjoy all the nonsense and sheer power of Liege of the Primordial. Brave the perils of Izaro's labyrinth and gain the wisdom of an empire. Two Call of the Brotherhood convert all our lightning damage to cold. Cold to Fire Support and Avatar of Fire combine to convert all our cold damage to fire. With all of these key pieces in place, the machine is operating at maximum efficiency! Note: Don't be afraid to take the 30-point nodes for Strength of Dexterity. You normally get these stats from gear, but with both of our ring slots accounted for, it can be difficult to cap out the 134 strength necessary for Clayshaper. Level 55-ish (Post-Cruel)

I'll be honest with you. It's been a long time since LGP has been a new character. I don't quite remember how I leveled her. This is what I think is close to what her tree looked like by the time I finished the Cruel difficulty. If you need more bulk, invest in the energy shield nodes near Unnatural Calm and Arcane Focus instead of some of the damage nodes. We get insane scaling from the hybrid nodes from Stormweaver and Snoforged thanks to our damage conversions adding everything together into one lump sum. Level 68 (Transition to CI)

Again, we'll make good use of the respec points granted to us by quests and Orbs of Regret. We absolutely want Vaal Pact and Ghost Reaver together when we make the switch to Chaos Inoculation because it lets our Warlord's Mark give up an incredibly aggressive defensive strategy. This is the point where you swap out your amulet for Eye of Chayula and add an Energy from Within jewel to the jewel socket near the Melding notable passive which grants hybrid life and energy shield (which then becomes tons and tons of energy shield). Level 73 (Adding the Second Curse)

Your next several levels should be spent investing in the Whispers of Doom notable passive and the various reduced mana reservation nodes that are nearby our pathing to CI and Vaal Pact. In addition, I have found Deep Thoughts to be a necessary addition in order to ensure smooth casting of spells and the ability to fight hexproof monsters whom we are unable to leech mana off of with Warlord's Mark. As you level, feel free to put the points into energy shield nodes first if you have the means to respec when you have enough points. Enfeeble or Temporal Chains to complement our leech from Warlord's Mark is easily worth many, many levels worth of energy shield scaling. Current level 91

I ended up cutting some of the damage nodes temporarily in order to maximally invest in energy shield scaling. I could handle up to tier 14 maps with ease, but the Overgrown Shrine bosses and the Guardians of the Shaper were proving to be very difficult fights. In addition, the Shaper himself proved to be absolutely insurmountable. I am struggling to determine how much of this is the build's fault and how much of it was simply my mechanical failings as a player. For your non-Energy from Within jewels, you mostly want Critical Strike Multiplier, Cast Speed, and Increased Energy Shield. However... Primordial Eminence further bolsters the buffs your golems give you, as well as making them more resilient to physical damage, ensuring they will have greater uptime before respawning from your CwDT Support.
The Anima Stone negates the need for Clayshaper and thus greatly decreases the attribute requirements of the build. Warlord's Mark can be kept at a low level because its leech does not scale with gem level, so a strength of 111 is all you would need in order to max out your Cold to Fire Support. This also allows you to use Whirling Blades instead of Shield Charge if you opt to use a dagger. I recommment against using a wand, as it relegates you to Flame Dash and Lightning Warp for movement skills. This is my first time writing a guide, so any feedback on content or style would be greatly appreciated. I plan on editing this guide as I think of more things and as feedback comes in. If you like the build enough to give it a try on your own, please let me know how it goes for you! I'm always for looking for ways to improve Lumpy and I'm eager to test the new Primordial jewels. That's all for now, exiles. Good luck out there! Last edited by Eyks272#0212 on Dec 3, 2016, 8:33:39 AM Last bumped on Jan 12, 2017, 12:28:04 PM

Gonna give this a go, installed the game again after a few years and it looks like fun. I like the originality.
UPDATE: Currently lvl 54 and going strong. Enjoying this quite a bit. Would you mind posting the gem linkings you use that aren't shown on your character? Last edited by TrinityX#2424 on Jan 18, 2017, 2:24:34 PM
