I 'm going for a duelist blade flurry too. But i'm thinking max block gladiator to make up for having to stand still.
Also i don't have the currency for varunastra so i opted for other budget gear Gear

7L blade flurry - inc. aoe/conc. effect - added fire - fortify
3L whirling blade - faster attack - blood magic 3L blasphemy - vulnerability - herald of ash 4L vaal haste - vaal haste - inc. duration - ancestral warchief 4L cwdt lv1 + tempest shield lv1 + blood rage lv7 + enfeeble lv3 The idea is to use the unique mod of Razor: "100% increased Melee Physical Damage against Ignited Enemies" To do this i used herald of ash to spread ignite, along with the exploding corpses from gladiator ascendancy points make for some pretty hefty AoE dmg. Also the increased dmg if you have blocked recently from passives and gladiator ascendancy helps with single target This is all theory crafting though, but i intend to try this out soon. Any suggestion? |

I was thinking about max block gladiator BF build too. Read so many topics and talked with friends and this build will propably be very tanky but lack damage for T15 and higher maps. That sword idea is interesting.Sword itself has max of 198 pdps, so with burning 100% buff should be better thatn 320ish pdps dragon sword. The question is will it ignite bosses etc? |

To ignite bosses we are going to need crit. A lot of crit.
That's the bottleneck i have to deal with. I'm currently looking for some "X% chance to ignite" for boss fights But 80% increased phys dmg if you blocked an attack from a unique monster recently is fine though. |

" It will be hard to get chance to ignite from items. Also getting a lot of crit and capping block will be hard as gladiator. You will end up with low hp pool. |

Yeah so i think i'll stick with conc. effect and +80% melee phys on boss block, since chance to ignite support in no way can compare to conc. effect's "more" multiplier.
Can't know for sure if it works or not until i try it out. Oh and i think the Razor mod will apply to your global melee phys dmg only not Razor itself. |
