maybe its the Lab

or maybe its cause people don't like purple.
Lab is a chore

Delve / Harbinger / Incursion / Delirium best leagues.
It does not matter how many players play, it matters how much the players donate. A few whales is vastly superior to 5,000 players who never donate a dime from a financial perspective.

Sometimes the snob elitist in me wishes that less people played PoE. Less people bitching about things they haven't taken the time to learn. Less people bitching about the unbearably bad nightmare trade system that actually works pretty well all things considered. Less people crying to have the game made even more casual friendly. Less people crying because they have to actually, you know, take the time to learn how to complete harder content to earn the rewards. Less people to bitch about hardcore players using logout macros, simultaneously crying about XP penalties on death in SC.

I was surprised today when Kripp basically outright said that he loved the old days in PoE because it had a steep learning curve and he could use his more extensive knowledge, and better understanding of mechanics to be better than other players. It was a bit of a "snobby elitist" statement, but I absolutely agreed with it. He said they basically make games for mass consumption now. Very few games remain that are completely unapproachable for new players, and require actual dedication and investment to access. There is something to be said for a game that is complex, and punishing, and doesn't hold your hand. I have been playing D2 on the Path of Diablo servers the last few days and it really made me realize how little the game teaches you. In fact, the amount of tutorial and explanation in game makes PoE look like a game for children compared to the way Diablo 2 tells you literally NOTHING about mechanics, and how the game works...
U MAD?
According to my numbers (which I can unfortunately not share with you), everything is fine.

The first like 50 times I made a Diablo 2 character I used that super-good armor upgrade immediately instead of waiting until later. Didn't even occur to me and I wondered how everyone around me has such spectacular chestplates by Act 5

I truly hope this game stays a the hardcore bastion it's been before, and doesn't cater to casuals. Of course I say that as I haven't played in recent months because time would only allow me to be a casual, so maybe soon I'll be able to become one of the hardcore. Look at that, a goal to go for, something so many games erase
