The Pariah?

Wording is consistent with all other items that have similar bonuses.
"There is no #3, "reading the ring and automatically knowing it means its own socket.""
It's called precedent - every per-socket modifier works this way, most notable being Prismatic Eclipse. It's not uncommon for the Pariah to be one's first experience with the modifier, but there definitely is a third option. For us here, it's the most common actually.

"Also, "general discussion" covers... pretty much anything, as long as it's about the game."
GD's description explicitly states it only covers threads that have no other appropriate index, hence this thread being moved to Gameplay Help.

I got tricked into buying this ring. Was expecting a 1k increase in ES. Only got 30(it was green slot at the time).

GGG needs to step up their description department. Anybody who actually defends this retardation with "hurr its consistent with other items with the same mod" needs to have their heads checked.

Other items (with this mod) have multiple slots. The ring only gets one.
Saying its consistent yada yada implies I have to check the wiki first for any item that might have the same mod before even thinking of using this ring.

Even ignoring misinterpretation of the modifier, how would a ring that grants thousands of Life and/or ES ever make it into the game, and if it did exist, how could it ever be affordable. It would be absurdly, brutally overpowered. A simple bit of logic brings the sensible conclusion as well.
Heh, if that's how it worked I'd be running this for MF all day:
Legacy SC IGN: Octora
Standard SC IGN: Octyte
so this ring is garbage ?:D
Someone just ascended to Necromancer.

----

But yes, ring is garbage.

I'm also reminded of how this question was treated as, "I should have known this." If the fucking ring implies a plural to sockets while having only 1 possible socket itself, I can only say that I was grammatically correct in assuming it would apply from all the sockets in my gear. I don't care about any deflect to this. If the item is not grammatically correct, then GGG fucked up. Not me. Not anybody else. That's the bottom line.

This once again falls under the category of, "more things about this game you're expected to have 3rd-party researched, without knowing you'd need to research it in the first place."

That's PoE.

And everyone's Ok with it.

Because they think it makes the game "hardcore".

It's grammatically correct, luckily. Every person in this thread called "Vipermagi" agrees. Just because it's only one person, does not make it an incorrect statement.

This reminds me of when I was just starting the game and found a Kaom's Sign. I asked in chat "hey, kaom's is worth 1 ex, right? i think i just dropped one"

Can we just get rid of this ring? I wasted 30 chaos on it thinking my energy shield would go way up. Why would they word it as "per socket" when there is no way to get more than one socket? If they can't write proper English then don't put it in the game to begin with.
