The Pariah?
Does this ring not work right, or something?
I put it on with well over 10 blue sockets, and I go up barely more than 300 ES. I put Tabula Rasa on, and I see no increment in my item quantity. In fact, I gained the same amount of ES, even though I went down 6 blue sockets. I have one green socket, and there is a zero difference in my maximum mana. This item seems busted, which is disappointing when I spent the last few days farming, saving, and scrounging up what I could muster in order to buy one. Aaaaaaaaaaand I think I just realized why. It only counts its own sockets, doesn't it... What kind of ridiculous wording is that? Why on earth would it even say "per socket"? It's only for the ring's socket colors. Changes in stats you saw were likely related to losing/gaining attributes like INT or STR from the other pieces.

I'm just gonna start posting
"this belongs in gameplay help" in all of your future GD threads to be honest. It seems wrong to encourage you to post here more with providing answers when there is an entire sub-section dedicated to this. I think your at five, the threads that seek gameplay help posted in general discussion now. Surprisingly enough, all of them could have been answered with a minimal of five minutes effort of exploring the net or wiki. Wiki doesn't have anything on this subject, but thanks I guess.
Also, "general discussion" covers... pretty much anything, as long as it's about the game. I'm pretty sure if you wanted to go and throw all GD threads into more matching subforums, there'd be zero threads left for GD, and no point to its existence. Not sure where you draw the line on who you harass about it and who you don't. But at least we know I'm somewhere on one side of that line. |

Yes i enjoy harassing random strangers on the internet.
That's why i provided the correct answers in three of your five threads. It has nothing to do with seeing a complete lack of effort on your part, both in finding the answers and asking the correct sub-forums that have dedicated people who enjoy answering. I don't find "lack of effort" to be a desirable trait, which is why i see no point in encouraging it. Feel free to disagree and continue. About the pariah, applying logic would have been enough. A quick sum-up of potential sockets yields 26 sockets. If you somehow think that getting 2600 energy shield/life whatever is an "okaish" reward for a single ring slot. . . Well yeah, lack of effort keep it at that. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" Yeah, I realize that now. I am kind of upset about it, because the ring's description is insanely misleading. Why would it say "per socket" when it can only ever have 1? It really leads you to believe it's referring to your whole set, albeit perhaps as long as they're being used by gems. But that is apparently not the case. *shakes head* I dunno if I've seen such a ridiculous case of bad wording in a game before. |

" Read facebreakers unique attribute. It has the same wording issue as this ring, there not limiting enough to actively convey their intent to a new player. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" I indeed thought it was that powerful. It certainly isn't a cheap item, and everyone always boasts about their "20k ES" characters which I cannot even come close to achieving, so yeah. Not to mention, for the 3rd time, the ring's wording severely implies it is referring to more than 1 socket. You talk about logic, but my assumption is the single most logical route. The reality of the ring is drastically way over there, on the opposite end of the spectrum. You already knew the answer ahead of time, so it's easy to look down on me and say, "that idiot, he should have known, it's so obvious, lol!" But - no - you're wrong. It's faulty wording, and you can't act like you knew how the ring worked before either 1) being told by someone, or 2) learning the hard way as I have. There is no #3, "reading the ring and automatically knowing it means its own socket." No human being adept in the English language would read that sentence and assume "per socket" was referring to the one, single socket the item can possibly have. Yeesh. You made me type all that. |

" I never owned the ring and i never used it, yet i assumed it was per socket instantly when it was revealed. The logic behind that thought pattern is obvious "GGG nerfs a chest slot without sockets from 1000hp per item slot to 500" "This ring will never be allowed to provide 2600hp for a single item slot" Similarly a BiS ES armor provides 950+- energy shield, while this ring could provide 2600 in the scenario you assumed, simple deductions and comparisons like this should have raised a red flag or caused suspicion. Which is why i brought up the facebreaker gloves. A new player could rightfully assume it provides 800% more physical damage to spells, as long as he remains unarmed. but experience with PoE as a whole negates this assumption, since physical spells would never function in a game-state where such attributes where allowed to exist. Anyway, i never suggested you stop asking questions if you have them, simply to first put in some effort yourself and then post them in the correct sub-section. Your logical assumption is reasonable in this case if you stopped PoE for this long, or your completely new. But a tiny bit of effort and research would have yielded the correct answer. Feel free to think i am insulting you if it helps you out in any way shape or form. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
