Make your own Dungeon Crawler!

Hey, itsmars.

This is my Youtube Channel.

I'm making a video tutorial series on Youtube, on how to make a Dungeon Crawler & I invite you to check it out.

Also, we'll be using Visual Scripting, so there's no need for C++, C#, Javascript, etc.

For the Game Engine, I use Unity & For the framework, I purchased "plyGame" for $32.
(plyGame is what we use to Visually Script, and comes with definitions for simple things, like "Item", "Enemy", "Player", etc.)

Making an entire video game for the cost of $32 & not needing to know how to script or code is pretty wild;
I never knew it could be this easy.

That's why I'm recording these video tutorials - for anyone whose ever been interested but didn't know where to start.

The videos themselves are step by step & beginner friendly.
I don't assume prior knowledge and try to clearly explain everything I'm doing.

I'm only on episode 20, so the game's quite bare-bones at the moment, but here's some pictures:

I'll upload more, later, once I've made some more videos, to further show off what we'll be doing in our game.

As of right now I've recorded 20 videos for the series, and have many, many more on the way.
Here's a list of videos on my Youtube Channel, as well as future episodes:

cool! I'll have a look.
Unreal is also a game engine that is completely free and comes stock with visual scripting.

Assets are the real barrier for someone dedicated to making their own game imo. Last time i looked (2 years ago), i had serious problems finding free models. Perhaps there are more free resources now?

The best resource i could find was makehuman (www.makehuman.org) which allows for really simple creation of characters, and blender (www.blender.org) which is an amazing 3d modeler.
For years i searched for deep truths. A thousand revelations. At the very edge...the ability to think itself dissolves away.Thinking in human language is the problem. Any separation from 'the whole truth' is incomplete.My incomplete concepts may add to your 'whole truth', accept it or think about it
Shit gfx, probably doesn't run 60fps, no buy.
Wow! Good luck with your project and thanks for posting this! Will check it out.
Censored.
@Kolyaboo & @The_Reporter thanks!

@SkyCore yeah, Unreal engine is a great alternative, although it wasn't free when I first got into game Design. It's also very cool that they support visual scripting.

My video tutorial series is just to show how to put a Dungeon Crawler together, should somebody use Unity & plyBlox (my preferred visual scripting solution).

As far as the bottleneck for beginners, I'd say it's gotta be programming.

If you don't understand, and more importantly, don't want to understand C#, that just about halts Game Development.

With visual scripting, I'd say the 2nd bottleneck is.. not really knowing what to do. That's the one I'm trying to help people with.

As far as free models, there's a tremendous amount of free stuff out there!

The first thing that comes to mind is Mixamo.com - They have 48 free Character models and 2,464 free Animations. Insane.

Next up would be the Unity Asset Store, which is where I picked up my free player & animations, which is what I used in the first few episodes.

Then, next would be sites like OpenGameArt.com, cgtrader.com, turbosquid.com, creativecrash.com, blendswap.com, sharecg.com, etc.

As far as making your own characters, (such as makehuman.org) there's also Mixamo&Adobe's FUZE, which is very similar - where you customize the model in a character creation type screen, and then at the end it exports it for you to use for free.
