Life Leech - explain needed
Hi,
Base life leech is 20% of my max life, right? I got slayer ascendancy Brutal Fervour (+10% to maximum Life per second to maximum Life Leech rate) ,and passive Vitality Void (+5% of maximum Life per second to maximum Life Leech rate) Am I right my leech is now 35% of maximum Life ? How this modifiers #% increased Life Leeched per second affect my life leech rate? I got this modifier at 140% Last bumped on Oct 30, 2016, 3:04:26 PM

" Close, not quite. Maximum life leech rate and "base Life leech" are two very different ideas. You need to be careful exactly which life leech stats you are talking about. 20% of your maximum Life is your default maximum life leech rate, or "top speed." With +15% to maximum life leech rate this stat becomes 35%, yes. " It does exactly what it says. Base Life leech rate (not maximum) is 2% of your maximum Life per second per leech effect. By default, every Hit you deal adds a Leech Effect that occurs at the rate of 2% of your maximum Life per second. If you got a modifier of +140% then you add on 1.4 times 2%, for a total life leech rate per leech effect of 4.8%. So every Hit you deal tacks on another 4.8%. If your DPS times leech amount (example: Berserker grants 1% leech amount with that one node, and 100% leech amount with the node after that) is high enough, AND your leech effects are not removed (i.e. you do not reach Full Life, or you have Endless Hunger), then you can think of 35% as a container that you fill up with 4.8% effects. So one hit, 4.8%, two hits, 9.6%, etc. until you reach 35%. If your leech amount times dps is too low you will never reach 35% and that stat will be wasted. Each additional enemy Hit at the same time decreases your needed "dps times leech amount " for this calculation by stacking leech effects faster (i.e. two enemies doubles your leech rate, 3 enemies triples it) EDIT: just realized you're Slayer, so it's a good chance you've taken Endless Hunger. in that case it is important to distinguish between Damage per Hit and DPS. Leech Effect Duration is scaled off of your Damage per Hit only, which means: Low DPH with high DPS (i.e. high attack speed) has faster acceleration and faster deceleration. High DPH with high DPS (i.e. low attack speed) has slower acceleration and slower deceleration. The takeaway being that higher DPH synergizes better with Endless Hunger because it will increase duration. in other words it makes more sense to use skills like Heavy Strike, not Double Strike. slowly, slowly I m geting to it :).
I was confused by reading wiki by this modifier 0.02 I didnt know what it is and now I know thanks to you adghar, its Base Life leech rate 2%. I think wiki need a rework at this leech explanation. Base Max. leech cap is 20% of my life Base Life Leech is 2% of my life Now I see two separate values for life leech. I read wiki few times and I couldnt see it. Can u explain to me what leech instance will mean for BV skill Because this 2% mean leech from 1 instance right? |

Increased% leech rate also increases the amount leeched. It only changes the rate but leaves the leech effect time authentic same.
Ex. 5k life pool 100% of damage leeched as life you hit a mob with 1000 dmg once with base leech rate > 100leeched/sec(5k x 0,02) for 10 seconds > total amount leeched 1000 Now same with 100% Increased leech rate 1000 hit once. Duration is still based on as you would have 0.02 leech rate > 10 seconds >leech rate 200/sec(5k x 0.04) for 10 seconds >total amount leeched 2000 Ign: LavaMosse

With blade vortex hitting up to 20 times/sec you can get up to 20 x (each mob hit) leech effects / second
Aka you hit 5 mobs when you have 20 stacks and they won't die in less than 1 second > you will get 100 leech effects Ign: LavaMosse
