Fast hitting skill gem

Is there any spell that hits extremely fast , for ex. something like blade vortex, i'm talking about extreme number of hits in a short time no matter the damage, bare minimal 10 hits per second. Is there anything like that?

For most attacks and spells it just will come down to attack speed/cast speed. If you stack enough attack speed, most melee skills can hit an insane number of times. Reave, Lacerate, hell even Viper Strike can hit suuuuuper fast. Oh, and make sure you have a really fast weapon (like a dagger with 1.5+ APS, or a foil)

Since he asked about spells:

The first two that come to my mind would be Firestorm and Icestorm (from a unique staff). Both are not very consistent to getting that many hits unless you have a large pack or fat target in mind.

Lightning tendrils and incinerate might also count as lots of fast little hits with more consistency.


Keep in mind that most elemental status effects are rather useless when scaled from little hits, no matter how fast they are.


As for earlier posts, most people jump to attacks for speed because attack speed is easier to stack high than cast speed.

Aside from icestorm and fire storm, ball lightning is another self-cast spell. Unlike the other two, ball lightning's consistency is reliable.


If you count totem in equation, flame totem is another candidate.
