won't do anything to HoA
even though they got matching tags "fire" and "spell". But this burning does work. What's wrong? This should totally work. We should be able to do builds dedicated to aspect X and stack it. Herald of Ash's secondary effect deals fire damage over time - it doesnt deal spell damage, therefore controlled destruction doesnt do anything. It will be affected by anything that affects fire damage over time, which is why increased burning damage works. Rapid decay would also work.
Fire penetration only applies to hits, not damage over time effects, so will not affect HoA in the same way it doesnt affect righteous fire or searing bond. |

Gem tags are only used to determine what item modifiers apply to said Gem (ie. +1 Level to Fire Gems et al). It's also an indicator of Spell versus Attack I guess, but it does not determine Damage type.
