Flask Nodes and Witchfire Brew

Would 30% Flask Effect make it a level 27 Vulnerability? Or would it give 30% Effect to the Vulnerability? Or have no effect at all?

Bump?
I guess aside from Mark answering this, the only way to find out would be via testing and a stopwatch.. EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home

"30% increased flask effectiveness" will only increase the effectiveness of the flask, so it won't give curse effectiveness to Vulnerability.
It might well increase the level though, since I know Mark_GGG has talked in the past about effectiveness affecting only 'numerical qualities'. edit, here is an example: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/4z8dvv/question_increased_flask_effect_mechanics/ Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Oct 12, 2016, 3:13:51 PM

" Well, he mentions hidden numbers as well, so not just the Level.. I guess I'll have to test this. EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home

It says so right there: ""increased Flask Effect" is exactly the same as "increased Buff Effect", but applies to Flask Effects, rather than to Buffs"
Witchfire Brew creates a "free" Blasphemy curse aura, which is neither a Buff, nor a Flask Effect, therefore it will not be modified at all. | |

tbh it's probably something like Writhing Jar where the Vulnerability aura effect the flask gives isn't actually a 'flask effect', it's just an effect that happens when you use the flask.
You could test it out with Umbilicus Immortalis, for eg, and see if it gives you or your zombies the aura. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Oct 12, 2016, 7:52:34 PM

" Huh? A while ago at least, increased flask effect does increase the number of worms you spawn. I saw a YouTube of it. You can't fake YouTubes of POE! Need game info? Check out the Wiki at: https://www.poewiki.net/

" That is cool then. You can fake Youtube videos but they're a lot more reliable than my guess based on a memory I had of Mark saying how the effect doesn't apply to you. I withdraw my guess above. :) Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" Well, the fact that Curse and Radius Effects don't buff the Blasphemy would imply that it isn't actually a Blasphemy Curse Aura, but a Flask Effect. EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home

Imagine the best way to settle this would be a Mark answer in the Mechanics thread, but that's no fun so I'ma take a stab at it anyways!
As I recall, it's been confirmed that the Silver flask's 'you have Onslaught' is unaffected by flask effect nodes ("20% more "having Onslaught" is still just having Onslaught"), so there's precedent for flasks engaging buffs that are otherwise independent of the flask itself. It's quite possible that Witchfire Brew has its own baked-in skill, a'la Labyrinth enchantments, that is configured to act like a level 21 Vulnerability aura. Note that the wording isn't "Level 21 Vulnerability supported by Level 10 Blasphemy Aura", it's "grants level 21 Vulnerability Curse Aura during flask effect". Sure, the only way we as players can aurify curses is by using Blasphemy and doing all that other shenanery, but GGG's item creation team isn't bound by those limits. The Vuln aura granted by Witchfire Brew is probably an independent skill with a boolean on/off trigger. Otherwise they'd have to do a bunch of weird coding to invisibly equip the flask with gems and then apply a bunch of other weird stuff and yadda yadda yadda, they're not going to do that when they can just reuse the Labyrinth enchant code and trigger a single fixed skill on flask effect. Flask Effect nodes would increase the 100% Evasion base property of the Stibnite flask Witchfire Brew is built on, but I can't imagine it impacting the Vulnerability aura. That seems like a far nastier can of worms than GGG would really want to deal with, especially given the fact that Pathfinders exist. She/Her
