Am I the only one to skip trials?

I did four trials but now skip them. Why bother when I know that the uber-lab will be out of reach for me?

did them last league for the challenge, then stopped after realising my lightning arrow build wasn't able to beat uber itzaro.

this league i did two trials (all i found so far) but will probably stop too when my reave char can't manage it either.

it's all gear dependent and without sinking massive time into trade you don't get anywhere rich or late endgame. i rather have fun with slowly leveling my chars than bothering with uber itzaro too much.

IDK man those trails if you are seeing them enough and can negotiate them in a fair amount of time are actually very much worth your time even if you dont want to run lab at all. They go for 4-5C a pop so like last league my build wasn't very good at doing the lab so once i did get my 7-8th poins i still farmed the trails up then once i had a buch saved up sold them off for Chaos or even Exalts. I mean thats not too bad for just taking a couple mins out of the map your running for guaranteed currency. This league my build has zero issues with lab so i run my keys but even if i couldn't i would still run every trials for free easy currency. Thats just me though. And people pushing the challenge buy the piss out of those keys. They sell extremely easy. Too easy to not farm them IMO.

Sure, buddy. Keep telling that to yourself and go do the uber trials/lab in HC. Half the trap gauntlets here don't provide enough information to be solved. There's no visible safe spot or end of the gauntlet, you have to pump your quicksilver, run in and hope for the best. If your build is good at mitigating trap damage or you're a pathfinder, you'll probably be fine. If it isn't, you might get screwed.

But hey, doing them in SC is no biggie - I know, I play there too. You quicksilver through and you're fine most of the time, if you die every once in a while, it's not the end of the world, right?

Did you read what I said? Rhetorical, because I know you did. I said to lab safe requires a methodical approach. You run in, test the waters so to speak, then back out and adjust your tactics. This is methodical, analytical, boring to many. I understand it goes against your standard ARPG sensibilities. Especially in PoE with this clearspeed meta. But again, there's people that like it and if everyone loved it the offerings would be much more expensive.

And stop throwing HC in like it's some big challenge, that for us mere plebs, will always be out of grasp. How about fucking off, I played eve online for 5 years, there's some real HC for you.

Ah EvE I still miss it, now that is proper HC experiance.

I'm sorry you interpreted this as you did since I intended nothing of the sort. I specifically said I also play SC just to avoid possible misunderstandings and I've repeatedly bashed HC elitists in the past. HC and SC have their pros and cons but this is beside the point. The point stands: the uber lab and trials are complete bullshit for HC and I am reasonably certain they played a significant role in the noticeable decline of HC temp leagues since they were introduced.

About the so-called 'clear speed meta', for which anyone who knows anything about the game should realize that it's not a meta but a fundamental aspect of a grinding-based game which has always been and will always be there - the lab actively encourages it. It's a farmable instance with RNG-gated rewards and there are even daily ladders for it. I really don't know why you think it's against the 'clear speed meta' when it's just the opposite.

About fucking off, I may or may not do it but it certainly won't be because you told me so, also let's not turn this into an e-peen measuring contest because these are ludicrous. Not saying mine isn't rather large.

last league i did something like 50-60 labruns (almost every key was selffound).. this league i did the trials and all but.. my first and third character lacks even the merc lab, and naturally my Jugg is the only one that have done uberlab yet...

ok, i admit that my first thingie died on merc lab to a trap and the lack of regen/movementskill :P

Third one is still in the leveling phase and almost ready to jump in merc. lab

Thanks to 18 months of SRS my skills are a bit rusty... can only do it reliable with a Jugg xD

SRS totally killed all my manual targeting/moving/shooting skills :D

if only they'd rework the enchant system...then i'd start running again...the things i want don't exist on PoE trade sadly.

I love the lab. Sometimes I jump in just to clear all the zones and check the random chests in there. And I play with a terrible connection that forces me to use predictive mode. My ping jumps erratically from 60 to 100/200/300/400/1000/2000/3000 every time I play so lockstep is impossible to play with.

Of course my connection means it's impossible to play HC but SC is still fun for me.
