Game lost another player today
So, I recently ripped to Maze Vaal and decided to reroll.
My friend in meantime decided to play self found so we rerolled together, me playing with trading, he selffound. He got to lvl60 something, I played somewhat less because I was fed up with leveling, and got to lvl40 something, when game froze for both of us, in separate zones, and we both died. I shut down my pc in hopes I would get disconnected from server earlier, but apparently, that was not the case. When I returned to Teamspeak, he was gone, and few seconds after, I recieve his message that he uninstalled the game, because he can't take this bullshit anymore, dying for third time because they can't consistently fix whatever is wrong with the game. My message to GGG would be - instead of constantly adding so much content, and new microtransaction, why don't you first fix the core of the gamek, so that the content which is there already, can be enjoyed? Friend was a paying customer, so basically, they lost money on not improving existing content, because he won't be there anymore to buy those microtransactions or experience new skills. Anyway, that's it from me. Last bumped on Oct 2, 2016, 8:28:20 PM

the server will DC you after 6 seconds on zero input (packets)
turning off your PC would not log you out early, even assuming you could how would you manage to tell the server that you had DC'd/crashed if you turn of every method of input Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

" Definitely a network problem, there's nothing the game can do for you then. I suggest you play standard leagues to avoid grief over things like this. Delete your character if you die a legitimate death if you desire the hardcore feeling. | |
" So which 'core' is that then? From the sounds of things you seem to want GGG to be able to guarantee constant, flawless network communication between their servers and whatever region you and your friend were playing from. I'm guessing you'd also like it if it were also constantly less than 50 ms? Anyway, let us know how your friend's search for a new game goes. ggg can't fix the internet.
in case of a server or instance crash you don't die because your char stops playing the same time the server kicks you from playing. it's only on network issues that the server waits for further 6 seconds after receiving your last command if you're still there and just temporarily cut off or gone before it takes your char out of the game. chris addressed this topic on reddit last week if you wanna have some official statement regarding the network problems. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! GGG can't fix the internet, that is certainly true.
The question is, why does PoE seem to be plagued by these problems much more than other games? EDIT: Also a simple, configurable log-out timer would solve 90% of these problems. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit. Last edited by Char1983#2680 on Oct 1, 2016, 2:13:18 PM

" Its not, people here are just whiny as hell. I had way more network issues from D3 back when I played it. |

" tried that, my suggestion was to lower the fixed server inactivity timeout of 6 seconds down to 2 seconds if the connection proved to be stable over a certain period of time otherwise. i don't think it's a good idea to give users the power over such essential parameters. most users complaining here don't even have a clue how a tcp connection to some servers works. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
