Nvidia Inspector FPS limit causing lag
Hey guys. So normally while playing my fps stays around 400 - 500 with a frametime of 2-3ms. This is totally unnecessary and probably is stressing on my GPU. Vsync causes horrible input lag for me, so I decided to try using Nvidia Inspector to limit my fps.
It does work fine at limiting the fps (picked 121, its a 60hz monitor), however also raises my frame time from 2/3ms to like 15ms. It doesn't feel as lagged as when using vsync, but still doesn't feel right. So my question is, is there any way to limit my fps without effecting frame time? I'm going to necro this for some reason but whatever. I really just wanted to ask you how are you getting 400 frames with a 1060. I also want to ask you why you're making your game go above 60fps when you have a 60hz monitor, you only get 60fps regardless of what it says due to your monitor.

Frametime shows how long it takes to render the next frame. 1000ms/FPS = frametime
So if you limit your FPS, your frametime will go up. I can't think of any way, to reduce the FPS without increasing the input lag. |
