Quick tip for Low end PC players

As a low end PC user myself, i usualy play with the "texture_quality=4" in the .ini file which reduces the graphics below normal standards.
Since the particle effects improvement, I have experienced better frame rate and game experience in general with "texture_quality=3".

(Note that quality=3 is higher quality than quality=4, which would mean more stress on your hardware, but not in this case)

Don't know if this is know or if it is old new but I think it will be helpful for some.

Thanks, but have you run any identical tests to prove that on your system, or is this from just casual observation? It's difficulty to run the exact same test to accurately compare framerate.

However, values 3 and 4 are not officially documented, nor supported. The community assumes 4 is lower than 3 because 2 is lower than 1, and visually 4 does indeed look lower. But since this is undocumented, only the devs know what 3 and 4 settings actually do (they might do something beyond just the texture quality).

Hello, sorry for the late answer.

It is casual observation.

I ran different combinations of resolution, texture filtering, vsync on and off and what not, but nothing new that hasn't been documented until now. (in those "low settings" threads)

Ye, I agree that quality=4 does a bit more than reduce texture quality since it lags the game.

It's something counter-intuitive, so i thought it was good to share. :)

Also, I am glad to see that there are other players with low specs, that play online in standard as I am not alone.
