armor or evasion?

As the topic says. What is the best? Some people in the global chat said that evasion wont be able to survival ~lvl50.
Is that true? should i put some str to get some armor instead of going "full" dex?
Depends on what you die to. Armor's great against swarms of smaller enemies, but its damage reduction doesn't help as much against larger hits (read: bosses), at which point evasion comes in handy.

Iron Reflexes seems the better choice to me, I've had two 70+ rangers and I've used this both times.

Evasion = missed more often, but when your hit you take full dmg.

Armour = hit more often, but when your hit you take much reduced dmg.

Either is fine until you get to the higher difficulties, the problem with evasion is its not a constant, sometimes you will have long periods between getting hit and sometimes you might get hit a few times in a row. Those few times in a row at full dmg can easily kill you.

Evasion is just too unreliable for me. Although I've mostly played hardcore where death really is to be avoided.

I kind of wondered the difference and it looks to be different than what I was thinking. I was thinking armor was for melee damage and evasion was for ranged attacks. So evasion is a percentage of defense like 28% so that many miss on average but the others get through as where armor is resistance so you just take off that from incoming damage. Energy Shield seems to be purely elemental damage.
Energy shield works on all damage types except chaos, actually - it doesn't reduce damage, it just prevents it from reaching your life total while it's up.

Looks like it is. Currently going down that path also makes it easy to pick up another Frenzy charge.
