Occultist/2.4/ Curse Support Build/ help make this!

So from the start this build is gonna be a FUN, low-damage , curse applying (as much as possible),aura giving, support build, which allows team members to have an increased advantage towards monsters and will allow teamwork in poe.... yes teamwork!

*This build will enable most party members to have effects such as life/mana gain, monsters easier to stun and knockback, monsters take more damage, monsters has less elemental resistance.

*Whilst also utilizing haste, and elemental resistances( by swapping between the purity auras) allowing Allies to get more dps to their builds instead of relying on t1 ele resits items.

*This build is prototype and i'm hoping we the Poe community can create an amazing build, a very reliable one which takes away from the regular solo play,grind poe is mostly about and allows a more MMO feel to it.

Lastly this is a Fun build and is not meant for of serious play unless you have a team who is
willing to help you which WILL be required for this!

GEMS

THE CURSES TO USE- depends on you and what your team prioritizes , here are some good options

- Poachers mark ~~ Curses all targets in an area, making them less evasive. Hitting the cursed targets will grant life and mana, and killing them will result in more flask charges and a chance to gain a frenzy charge.~~ great for sustain and mana gain!

- Enfeeble ~~ Curses all targets in an area, making their attacks and spells less effective ~~
Another great sustain curse.

-Warlord's Mark ~~ Curses all targets in an area, making them more vulnerable to stuns. Hitting the cursed targets will leech life and mana, and killing them will result in a chance to gain an endurance charge~~ A great curse for weakening and giving allies a buff

-Elemental Weakness ~~ Curses all targets in an area, making them less resistant to elemental damage~~
most builds use ele dmg, so this will give your allies a dps buff!

-Vulnerability ~~ Curses all targets in an area, making them take increased physical damage and degeneration.~~ if your team consists of mostly physical dps, this is a must for increased dps for your allies!

-Flammability, Frostbite & Conductivity- well these will be used if your team deals a specific ele damage.

All other curses are good but are mostly dependent on your team, as in if they want more crits, more melee phys dmg.. etc.


Recommended Auras-you also use whats best for your team, 2-3 auras at a time hopefully
Haste - everyone gets speed(movement speed, attack speed and cast speed.
Discipline and Determination- everyone gets energy shield or everyone gets armour
Clarity - everyone gets mana regen
Purity of elements - highly recommended, reduces cost of you and your allies builds due to giving them that extra ele resist they need.



YOUR SKILL SETUP

Well its mostly depends on your choice of weapon for the dmg ,curse spreading spell, get one with aoe such as earthquake, firestorm, caustic arrow,contagion,frost bomb or even some traps aslong as its efficient in applying the debuffs to enemies as that will be your role but as the curses has a duration you can play a dual set-up, with another item then you can have a separate set up for your dps, meaning one setup will be to apply the debuff whilst the other is for your damage.

5L- curse on hit-*your dmg spell here*-curse1-curse2-curse3

6L - same as above just another curse(curse4)

SECONDARY SETUP

Your swaping-dual setup, i recommend to go into chaos and posion dmg as the passives for occultist gives these a buff. So yeh , Caustic arrow ftw or just use the added chaos dmg gem to your preferred spell I guess.

THATS ALL I'VE GOT , PLEASE HELP ME MAKE THIS BUILD (also i'm poor so i cant afford to do it but i want to see it happen)... to allow a little change of direction from this game being mostly single player,grind, high dps, insane builds... into more co-op , fun and unique play-style allowing friends to design parties that allows each person to have an exclusive roll to play! :D

Huh this is a odd build indeed and to even allow it to happen the leveling process will be intense,i guess thats where the teamwork will come into it... just seems to hard and will require some highly op geared allies to carry you... but tbh i guess the end result may work out, quite unsure myself if support builds are even viable like this.

ah well i thought so myself but doesn't this build , well the style of it itself seems like something that can help break down the intensity of late game maps and give more survival aspects to the entire team?.. thats what this build is for mostly as it is a unique role to play tho the get it to its peak , team help is yes indeed required. xd
Hi, I'm currently leveling a support curse character as my second character this league. The concept itself is not new as party players have been using cursers and aurabots all the time.

But here are my thoughts on it. I also went Occultist for the extra curse. I pretty much ignore the chaos damage as I don't bother on making any damage and just focus on survivability, curses and auras.

First thing I noticed, is that if I wanted to get some decent support power then I would need to use Gospri's Will or Victoria's influence, and neither have any or little ES, which means a CI is at this point pretty much out of option. What I am going for currently is trying out a Hybrid life/ES, and hoping to get around 4k both for starters. The current CI Whispering Ice Crit that was my first chracter runs 10 k ES, and can do almost anything except for the 4 bosses at the moment (the latter is partly due to my player skill). Why I think 8 k total life and ES will be enough is cos curser will use strong temp chain and enfeeble to make up for the missing 2k (and imo much more) + you are running with party, do ideally you have some tanky melee taunters aswell.

As for nodes, I plan to not get hit, or at least rarely hit, so what I do differently from your tree is I don't grab any life regen, also I take no damage nodes, though I try to get some cast speed since the faster you cast the less time you are locked doing something and not dodging fights. I grab all the curse effectiveness and try to grab as much aura reservation and effectiveness. Also life and the better Hybrid in the right side.

For leveling I used fire trap until lvl 33 and Whispering Ice from then on forward and planning to switch to support at level 75 or so.

6 socket Whispering Ice makes lvling rly easy even with very little offensive nodes.

For cursing my idea is to use again, 6 socketed Whispering ice, but 5 Link it (you need to link for curse on hit with curses to work). For the linked slots I use Curse on hit, temp chain, enfeeble, warlords mark and vulnerability/elemental weakness/specific elemental weakness(frostbite/conductivty etc). The last curse depends on the party members. First 2 curses are imo the strongest defensive curses, warlords mark gives whole party life and mana leech which is awesome, and the forth curse is for extra party damage, which should be around 50 % due to your curse effectiveness.

Now what is awesome is that for the sixth gem you can use either increase AoE or faster casting, which still effects the Icestorm skill. And with the AoE from the witch and templar areas you can curse large area, and keep on cursing it for a few seconds while also applying chill to the ground for extra slow and also making party members have a easily recognizable zone of "safety" :D

If you roll red as the last socket and are low on chromes you can also used increased duration, however note that it won't effect curses since it is not connected, unless you 6 link it, in which case y

Now I plan to use Cospri's Will, firstly cos I can afford it, secondly I need one more +1 curse from somewhere and finally the most important notable of the chest piece, curses go through Hexproof (that actually makes me considering sacreficing the important chest slot for a unique Evasion chest)

Second unique I plan to use is Alphas Howl for auras. For auras I will definitly use discipline, to get the needed survivability that I am lacking currently and secondly Haste. I was considering using Generosity but so far I'm leaning against that since I could use haste effect myself aswell since well, it is a indirect survivability boost. In the end I hope to reach at least 30 reduced mana reservation, around 40-50 % curse and aura effectivenesses and also be able to run third aura, propably a map roll or mapboss specific purity or smth.

As for other rare items, all need to have a proper life roll and as much ES as possible. You need all the elemental resists oc. and finally rings and amulets need to roll dexterity and some strength. Most expensive dex req is 155 - 160+ for Haste and same amount of str. for Warlord's mark. Now you get some str. cos of straying more to the Templar area, but dex I found rly hard to come by, luckily rings can roll 50+ for either and a good amuler alone could fix majority of it.

I was considering using astramentis but I figured I could manage without and roll higher overall life/ES pool, though that is still to be decided, because 100 str from astramentis is 50 HP and 100 int. is 20 % more ES, so yeah... something to consider.
