REMOVING ENCHANTMENTS

Those new bases seem kinda pointless if you can't even enchant/corrupt them.

Not pointless if you prefer the natural implicit to one you can get from enchanting or corrupting.

Vaal orbs have been in the game for how long now? One of their outcomes has always been to overwrite an implicit with something else. When you corrupt that amulet hoping for +1 curse, you should know that you will lose the implicit if you succeed.

rip my spelldamage gloves, this is pretty stupid
Well thats being a noob at this game and lack of GGG explaining the replacement of the afix with the enchantment. Rip my spelldamage fingerless silk gloves. This is very stupid. I just lost 14% of my spelldamage for an animated weapon :|
This will likely never happen. It was suggested, I believe, that they add a vendor recipe incorporating an Orb of Regret some time ago when the enchantments were first added. On Ascendancy release there were some enchantment bugs that went unfixed for a long time so the advice was to avoid enchanting gloves. One in particular would one-shot you out of the blue: triggering an elemental glove enchantment on a reflect mob would ignore your defenses. Naturally, people begged for a way to remove them. We still haven't gotten it.

I picked up a habit of not enchanting gloves in Perandus because having enchanted gloves usually meant their value was lower than a comparable pair without an enchantment because people didn't want the 10-percent-xp slot machine breathing down their neck all the time. I still do not enchant gloves because I feel the implicits are inferior to a good corruption.

I strongly believe that ggg should implement a way to allow players to remove any enchantments on items.

Reason being situations like this:

I had no clue that the enchantment would overwrite the implicit. There should either be a warning message before applying the corruption or allowing the players to remove any enchantment.

You are not the only one.

I am sorry, but wouldn't it be better to add a simple warning: You are about to overrwite the following item implicit stat : "stat", are you sure you want to do that? Or something of that sort...

Something like that is needed. We don't play games to be aggreviated after all.
