The Dot spam and Bots
" Well, every spam is annoying, so your well loved dot-spam. Even if you claim this as "great idea against RMT" "better to simply go balls deep full retard if you gonna go retard." -Boem-

From what I've seen anyway the Bots only appear in the first channels. 1-20ish? So if all the active players moved to the further channel numbers we'll probably not see them at all.
Just another Forum Signature in a Sea of Signatures.

" Which is an excellent option. OR The moderators could attempt to grasp the purpose of the dot-spamming as a whole and, well, not instantly 24H ban someone for it. Especially not without a warning. It's plain stupid. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1552460 - my drop solution

" The dot spamming is plain stupid and just piles more spam on top of the RMT spam. So instead of just seeing the fucking RMT spam or a toucan I have to see that AND a bunch of internet warriors "fighting back" by adding even more spam to the channel. Brilliant idea guys! |

" So then bear with it! What you're doing has nothing to do with combating RMT. If someone in chat is interested in looking at the site linked by the spammers all they have to do is scroll up. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you. Last edited by Shovelcut#3450 on Oct 14, 2016, 9:34:49 PM

The global chat is only meant for porn, racism, and RMT spam. There are are strict rules in place that will prevent anyone from interfering with these posts in global chat.

" Except close to no one wants to bear with this, therefore leading to the other option sooner or later (or maybe do you want to bear with it for the rest of your playtime ?). And I do believe GGG doesn't want that (and is fully aware of that as well). In fact, no game company wants that. By the way, I've seen less RMT those last few days, but Toucan and Harambe walls are going to replace those. Fortunately, those we can ignore/report without fear of having no effect. |

" Yeah, except you have answers and retorts to these very moot and unintelligent "points" of yours all over this thread already. Have you managed to evade them so far, there's little i can do. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1552460 - my drop solution

So many opinions here and hard yet wildly different stances. It's not a simple issue but it seems to be about bot ad blocks. Bot spam blocks are annoying. Has anyone argued against this yet? They make big white blobs that interfere with gameplay. Dots are small and "clear the screen". Why a few people are opposed to the dots still eludes me but I see "dot hate" in many posts. I guess they see themselves as spam purists.
GGG has made a fantastic game that most if not all of us are fondly using for our entertainment. GGG has limited resources as does any company for fighting disruptions to gameplay. Dot spam seemed to me to be a great solution since my perception of spam is that bots are spam and dots are a way to clear it. Are dots spam? I don't know but GGG says yes. I would call the dots a fix. Fighting the parasitic bot blocks is a tough cat and mouse game with the parasite companies always coming up with new ways to circumvent GGG's blocking attempts. Limited resources prevents hiring the most el3te spam team so they probably fight it in house with their not too bad Kung fu. But the orb farm pimps are hardened vets motivated by the Yankee dollar. Stopping them is like trying to stop prostitution. So we little guys tried to jump in and give a hand to the overtaxed GGG team. We got spanked. My advice here is: GGG needs to remember who pays them. Supporters are the paycheck that makes their rent. Hardline bans to people who try to help gameplay is an aggressive move against players trying to Better their own and their fellow gamers experience. Dangerous ground. The main reason to play this game is to have fun. Global can ruin that in so many ways with all the mental sickness out there, but I am exaggerating in my case. For me, I had become a supporter only days before being banned without warning for a dot in global. Not talking to the sick meat that is global didn't really phase me. I can do without their corrupted banter although it entertains me and let's me rage out at their false bravery while hiding in their anonymous Holes. What pissed me off was not being able to join parties on a Saturday after a long week of work. So this made me think - do I really need to bind myself to this wonderful game if it means being subjected to "policy" bans with automaton like indiscretion? As players we don't need a game. The game needs us. GGG needs to remember that if they want to keep the accounting department writing payroll checks. I am currently trying to reverse my support pack purchase. It is for another reason but being banned made me unable to overlook that other reason. GGG may win the battle of my credit card dispute or I may win. I can say this: if they win this battle they lose the war with me. It turns out I actually have discretionary income to spend on a game I want to see rewarded. If they keep my first support installment it will be their last. This is personal with me at this point because of the sensitivity of this entire dot spam polarizing issue. Can I maybe later mellow out? Sure it's possible but with my current state of emotion I don't see how. All things change tho and I do like this game so who knows. But it will be a slow thaw. I saw myself becoming a GGG POE annual supporter in a happy dream of mutual love. Then the hammer came as I tried to help them and like a child burned for the first time by the lovely hot flame, reality broke the spell. Last edited by danickstr#7833 on Sep 14, 2016, 3:54:38 AM

Dots, RMT spam, it matters not to me.
All people have to do is change from "dots" to something less direct. So if you type a dot, stop and instead type "I like the weather" or "Hats are a funny thing" The more random the better, this way you are not spamming and you quickly remove the RMT spam off the screen. Win/win It does seem odd that GGG has taken an aggressive stance against the players and a pro-RMT spam stance on this one though, which is odd. I've never seen a gaming company so pro-RMT spam before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Making all kinds of gains. |
