Performance Issues - Multithread Problem!
|
Turning off MT does not help me.
A further update: When I switch between windowed mode and full screen, the game freezes, the POE window disappears for 5-10 seconds, and then I'm logged out. Overall, it seems to get WORSE over time (stutter is not bad in the first 15-30mins of play, but after 1-2h its unbearable and I log out.) |

I can support this.
I never had any issues with this game untill 2.4. I got major ms/fps spikes now. It's even worse in certain maps. Specs: I7 4970k CPU GTX 970 GPU 16 GB RAM Windows 10 OS |

" For everyone, who experience the same problem - add to your game shortcut just one option: --noasync This will turn off new async pre-loading system - all required assets (i think all) will be loaded from start. Game loading time will greatly increased, but lags will \ may gone. |
|
" Update: I added the --nosync as recommended. 1) this seems to improve the stuttering situation for all basic gameplay, although loading screen times are horrible. I stutter now about 20% of the occasions as before. 2) stuttering is still a huge problem as it looks like the game doesnt preload assets such as lab, the new essence monster encounters or lockboxes. so I basically drop from 60 frames to 0 to 10 frames constantly during these encounters. = death 3) I played from launch until Sept 6 with no stuttering. In fact, it was the best gameplay I've had since beta. There was something inside one of these hotfix thats triggered these issues. Hell I was playing shield charge - ping pong all over the screen with no problems. Now I cannot walk to a town portal. |

Are any of you using a low power HDD like a Western Digital Green HDD? Or do you have any kind of power saving functionality enabled for either or both the HDD and SATA Controller?
Explains BIOS/UEFI option you should turn off: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggressive_Link_Power_Management Turn off Windows HDD Power Saving (Generally choosing the High Performance Profile is good enough, though some OEM's like to delete/modify that profile): http://support.wdc.com/KnowledgeBase/answer.aspx?ID=3875 Performing those 2 things should greatly improve the consistency of your HDD's performance at the expense of additional power consumption (They still won't use much power) and slight heat increase. This generally resolves issues where a program needs to access the HDD and the HDD has to wake up out of its power saving mode which causes programs to randomly stall/stutter for seemingly no reason and then you hear your HDD suddenly churning like mad for a while. I am unsure if ALPM technology exists for SSD's, if it does then disabling it will help you too. Disabling both is completely safe so long as you have a Power Supply that isn't at its limits powering your computer and so long as you have a reasonable amount of existing air-flow through the computer case. Pretty much anyone that doesn't care about battery life should disable these 2 settings. In regards to overall performance issues not caused by loading assets from the HDD: 1) Open Control Panel 2) Click "Power Options" 3) Click "Change Plan Settings" for the active Power Profile 4) Click "Change advanced power settings" 5) Disable "Link State Power Management" for PCI-E 6) Configure the minimum CPU speed in "Processor Power Management" to 100% (Or higher than what it is currently). 7) These changes aren't recommended for laptops. You can also ensure your video card drivers are configured to operate at maximum performance instead of Optimal or maximum energy efficiency. lab traps + debuff totems = ~17fps
small boss rooms(just a few t5 burial grounds and t9 cryps i believe) ~18-24 fps and it doesnt go up even after the boss is dead and am standing there for a minute. i7-3700 , radeon 7850 None of that happening in 2.3. feelsbadman( |
