[2.4] Life Based Crit/Poison BV Assassin - Theory crafting need some help please!

Build Plan: I’m going to be playing a life based Crit/Poison BV Assassin on SC AoW. I’ve been doing some theory crafting and I’m using some BV trees I found from others. One of them should work well and I think I’m going with the first one. However, I’m not certain which would be best for my build idea and could use some advice/tweaking. With the change to BV I’m not sure what the best link set-ups will be or what I should use exactly and could use some guidance on that as well.

For ascendancy I’m going Toxic delivery and Deadly Infusion (after uber lab)

Any guidance or help would be appreciated. Last BV I played was a scion before ascendancy. I didn’t play any prophecy league and left halfway through Perandus. Thanks in advance! Here is my theory crafting.

Not 100% on gear either waiting to see some of the new stuff.

Never done BV but I did a little looking into it and gonna try trickster first. Basically looking to do all new content. I think I found a good balance between DPS and Survival. Going start life and end CI or low life. This seems to give me the most flexible char. Thought I would share let me know how assasin works I want to try BV Assasin.

Curious as to whether you've read my guide. Uses Toxic Delivery and Deadly Infusion. Unstable Infusion easily generates all the PCs you'll ever need thanks to high hit rate.

I also don't run with VP.

I'm probably going to be swapping out my increased duration support in 2.4 now that BV caps at 20 stacks.

It's a well tested and proven build that has worked for me for the past 2 leagues, very well.

Feel free to use it as inspiration if you want to. Build has been working pretty much unchanged since 2.2, and will still continue in 2.4.

Is there any reason you're not using frenzy? I would think the more damage would be substantial and I think I'd rather PCoC and save those AP for Ambush and Assassinate. While I don't think heading to deadly infusion is a bad choice, I think PCoC is a good replacement and a good opportunity to gain frenzy charges (ice bite + hatred) or Curse on Hit with a single BV utility spell.

Thanks for the info, your build did help a lot with some of my dynamics. I think the thing I am missing the most is Increased AoE in my build. But I don't think it's best to go all the way to Templar to get more AoE...

Ambush and Assassinate synergise more with skills that do big chunky hits. With BV's crazy fast tick rate and small hits, you'll barely notice ambush as BV.

That makes a lot of sense. Unstable Infusion + Deadly Infusion > Ambush + Assassinate for BV.

Should I then remove Power Charge on Crit and (Blasphemy - warlords mark). Instead go Curse on hit - warlords mark. Then I wont need Essence worm for Hatred. I would also lose blind (not sure if it will even be worth it to have in the utility BV in the first place)

Or just remove Power Charge on Crit and add culling strike and that be the only change?

Similar to your second tree - I played this build last league and managed to do Uber Atziri deathless with it on my second attempt. The single target damage will be lower but clear speed should be good.





Oh and colouring Cospri's was pretty annoying so any 6L will give similar results - just swap Culling Strike for the Poison gem and you have the same result - although -1 curse.

I will remove some of the smaller life nodes to get jewel sockets later as for the start of the league I will need to pick up other gear first so jewels will be later.
