Question on new Shaper of Desolation (ele conflux)
So patch notes say:
Shaper of Desolation now grants different Confluxes over a ten-second cycle: Chilling Conflux for three seconds, Shocking Conflux for three seconds, Igniting Conflux for three seconds and then all three together for one second. Each Conflux means that any damage causes that Status Ailment. Elemental Conflux was too powerful. The new version requires more strategy (and doesn't need a kill to get started). My question is, if my character does fire damage and normally burns, how is this affected? Does it still initially burn while going through other status ailments? Or does it not burn at all until after 6secs and instead each of my hits create chill? Or does it do burn as normal and then the conflux is on top of that, adding chill initially? Conflux doesn't change your ability to cause ignite. It just adds some extra status ailment possibilities. You'll be able to ignite stuff with fire damage the whole time.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

OK cool so the conflux is completely additional to any status ailments i install myself?
So i hit an enemy and create burning damage and the chill then starts - my burning doesn't expire? I am then doing both burning and chill for 3secs? |

" If you hit an enemy with fire damage during the "Chilling Conflux", you will be able to both ignite and chill the enemy. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

What i am more interested in is, what actually starts the "conflux" cycle, or is it something that will always be active as long as you have the node. (or does it need a hit to start, will it work like pendulum and have some long off-times etc.)
I am thinking specifically for bossfights that take longer than 4 seconds, the conflux changes will be a buff, actually. But that depends on if it is relyable and if it is active all the time. |

" It specifically says it doesn't need a kill to get started...Which is why I'm considering this to be a huge buff. You basically are on a constant cycle: 3s Chill -> 3s Shock -> 3s Ignite -> 1s All -> Repeat. This is a buff™

" I consider it a buff to players that go through content slower, so for me it is a buff. It is a nerf to players that go through content fast. Before, you can have conflux "on" for the entire map if you are fast. Now, only part of the conflux is on. |

" But the going-fast Elementalists didn't need Conflux to clear trash mobs quickly. |

" I would imagine they do. Being able to shock and burn proliferate helps a lot for clear speed. |

" It should be a quality of life (especially against high health trash and blue mobs), but a well-scaled Flameblast build one-shot trash mobs by default with or without Conflux. |
