2.4 CI Crit Fireball Elementalist Theorycraft
This is probably gonna be my first build in the league, but also probably my only build, so it's not gonna be super cheap, easy to lvl or light on points. On the other hand, the only really expensive item is gonna be Heretic's Veil, which only gives us one extra curse. Without it's just moderately expensive, mostly because of the high ES gear needed (although Essences :o ).
This build is gonna depend mostly on: - GMP Fireball with burn prolif for clearspeed; Flame Surge for single target - High ES (should be about 10k), Vaal Pact and life leech from Warlords Mark for survivability - Dual wielding daggers for high crit without the need for power charges or momentum - Warlord's Mark exclusively for Mana, no Clarity - Blasphemy Triple Curse (Warlord's Mark, Flammability, Temp Chains) for everything - Pretty much sacrifices ever doing hexproof or no leech maps for overall better tree/stats/etc >> Tree << - fairly standard CI VP Crit Caster tree - we don't take any PCs, since we will have 85%+ crit chance without them - we take Whispers of Doom so we can have Triple Curse, and 30% reduced Aura reservation so we can have (together with Heretic's Veil) all the curses on Blasphemy and also run Discipline - as for the Ascendancy, we take normal stuff (even though Shaper of Desolation is getting nerfed), probably doesn't need an explanation Gems: Main link: Fireball+Echo+Fire Pen+GMP+Conc Effect+ICS - This setup, together with Beacon of Ruin (prolif) from Elementalist and one or two (or maybe none) Poacher's Aim jewels (pierce), should achieve the greatest clear speed. Pierce is there mostly so at least one or two fireballs penetrate deeper into the pack and spread the burn. Otherwise the prolif might not be enough, especially since we have Conc in our setup. Controlled destruction could be used instead of Conc Effect, but the loss of crit consistency would probably affect the clear speed too much. For single targets that we don't want to get close to, GMP could be swapped with Slower Projectiles. - For 5L remove Conc Effect or ICS - For 4L remove both Single target link: Flame Surge+Echo+Fire Pen+Conc - Pretty regular. For bosses the sequence should be: Throw Vaal Lightning Trap -> Cast Fireball for burn -> Kill with Flame Surge Curses: Warlord's mark+Flammability+Temp Chains - Warlord's Mark is crucial for life and mana leech - Temp Chains for longer burns as well as safety. Enfeeble works too, but in my experience isn't as good for ranged characters - Flammability for more damage; Ele Weakness could be alternatively used as well in group play - Probably should run War Mark and Temp Chains until you get Heretic's Veil, although you can swap on the move as well Golems: - Flame Golem - thanks to Liege of the Primordial gives us 100% ele damage - Ice/Light Golem - either we get a bit more AS/CS for faster clears, or more crit consistency also for faster clears Other stuff: - Whirling Blades and Lightning Warp for movement - Discipline and Vaal Discipline - Vaal Lightning Trap for bosses Gear - Uniques: Doedre's Damning ring so we can run triple curse; Heretic's Veil so we can run triple curse on Blasphemy and Discipline - and have enough mana left to cast - Weapons: Two Krisses with Spell Damage, Fire dmg added to Spells, Spell Crit and Spell Dmg - necessary to get good crit even without power charges - Chest: High ES one with resists, probably best to buy a white 6L one and chaos spam - Amulet: Spell dmg, Spell Crit, Crit Multi, ES, %ES - the usual - Ring: Diamond Ring with resists, ES, crafted %ES, possibly int, fire dmg or cast speed - Rest: Just rares with high ES, resists, int, etc Mapping - Can't reasonably run: Hexproof, No leech, Ele Reflect. Everything else should be fine. How do we deal with: - Stun: Stun Avoidance nodes - Freeze: Heat Flask - Alternatively, Dream Fragments and Eye of Chayula on swap for heavy situations Lvling/Masters: - gonna wing it - take all three passives Low Life/Occultist/Other options - Low Life would be possible with extreme investment into res gear. Would probably work better with Occultist. The tree would be virtually identical except for taking Pain Attunement and Arcane Vision instead of CI. Running Anger and Arctic Armor would then be possible, although those would require at least lvl2 Enlighten and a 4L. Alternatively Purity of Fire/HoI and AA with a 3L - Occultist could otherwise be chosen instead of Elementalist for free +1 curse and a lot more ES - High ES, High Crit shield could be used instead of a second dagger; Rathpit+Rainbowstrides+Rumi's could be used for extra block - Chaos version would also be viable with this tree and dual wielding Consuming Darks. Links would be: Fireball+Echo+ICS+Conc+GMP+Void Manipulation and Flame Surge+Conc+Echo+Void Manipulation. Curses would be: War mark+Temp Chains+Ass Mark That's all I can think about for now. The burn do not scale with spell dmg .the spell damage, only apply to the initial hit of you're setup; however u can use pierce gem , take off the burning for higher hits; but ur going to lose the burning damage.As weapon ur going to need a scepter because, the burning dmg is going to scale with the elemental implicit of ur weapon.
Any wand can grant u high crit chance , up to 11.8% and maybe 60spelldmg and lets say,70 spell crit as not very expensive weapon But! A scepter with same spelldmg and critfor spells is going to double dip because burning is what make clear speed . Another problem u may find is , u cannot shotgun .For ele reflect as elementalist with VP u don't need to worry about ele reflect . I'm currently planning on dual wield doryani catalist ci because I have already set my gear from LV 70-75. I' going to use the scepter because 32ele implicit+90% ele granted by dory x2 is essential .For bosses and tough fight in going to equip my es shield for more tankyness because my infernal mantle 5l spread provide enough dmg to deal with bosses . Ps: At some point u need EE and ur power charge generator is no brainer extra dmg with min investment. Update fire dmg%- elemental dmg% for burning. Also I think whisper of doom. Won't give u any real benefit. Stun avoidance on tree in not optimal; a quick example are flame bearers (they can shotgun) eye of chayula in ur setup is not an option if ur going to use wands , u lose so much dmg and u can't be fit that much from whirling blades for movement, coz u need high attack speed roll on a weapon ( or a dagger if u don't like wands but lower dmg ..means ur not efficient and u may die by Stu lock .
