damage vs. crit

Am I understanding right that the base crit does 1.5 or 150% damage, i.e. if I were to hit for 100 damage, a crit would hit for 150?

So if I have say 500% crit multiplier, a 100 hit would do 150*500% damage = 750 dmg?

And in contrast, if i had say 500% increased damage but no crit (or very little), a 100 damage hit would do 500 damage witout a crit?

thanks for helping me clarify this maths

Correct.

Nope. If your tooltip says "500% Critical Strike Multiplier," you've actually got [150% base multiplier] + [350% multiplier from talents/gear]. Thus, the hit that would deal 100 damage instead deals 500 on a critical strike.

Correct again.
Look, man. Video games are hard, okay?

100 damage hit would do 600 damage if you had 500% increased damage. Your base damage is 100%, increased by 500%, so 600 total.
