I prefer to think of it as a "Matrix chair" rather than a "dentist chair," but to each his own ;) And c'mon, that's clearly a sitting position. A sweet one, too, with your legs kicked up and all relaxed.

it's not perfect but I prefer my setup,



the picture is a bit old, the following changes have been made over time

-keyboard is now on the desk itself, logitech G13 is next to the mouse instead
-PS3 gamepad is next to keyboard if I need that type of control for emulated console games or others
-retractable table is covered in arborite now, the wood was bare without varnish, which lead to eczema on my elbows

I really wish I could say I made this myself but no, it was a favor from my father

not sure what's funny about the chair, is it that I use a pouffe for me legs? it's really old and doesn't fit the rest so yeah I would agree

I developed back problems really early, I'm only 25, I don't remember when I started using this setup exactly but it did fix cervical and lumbar pain I had, believe it or not, this setup wasn't meant originally for gaming but really for health and comfort.

So if you're healthy and comfy, not necessarily, otherwise yeah, good posture for long periods of time is crucial and the chair is where most of that happens, the desk also affects it though, even with a great chair, if you're leaning forward, you're going to develop problems like I did with time, that's why I have that weird custom half moon recessed table

It's at 45 degrees, I'd call it semi reclined. That's not a normal sitting position.
