Bone Helmet and enchantments
So there's this new necro helmet with 40% minion damage implicit, that presumably gets overwritten by lab enchantments? Which makes it useless for anyone trying to minmax their character.
Rather disappointing for a supposed endgame base item that requires level 75 to equip. Last bumped on Aug 14, 2016, 1:06:26 PM

How is a 40% minion damage implicit useless? Maybe they are trying to min-max their character by increasing minion damage?

Haven't you heard, dudio? If it's not 100% better than current perfect gear in all ways, it's completely useless. No one ever uses more than one minion type so a helmet enchant will always be better. What else could explain power creep?

Just because lab enchants doesn't mean automatic useless.
Stupid logic. If you can even call it that. If you prefer the implicit, then you make use of it. If not, then you use an enchant. Just because you don't like the implicit doesn't mean nobody won't use it. |

Zed_: 40% minion damage would be better than, say, 60% spectre damage, if a summoner were to use multiple minion types as damage output. I assume, by the fact that you're standing by your original comment, that there isn't really anyone in the very endgame who uses such a setup.

@adghar: the spectre uber lab enchant is 40% increased spectre damage. All of the minion damage enchants are 40%*. This helmet would be in all situations at least as good as a minion damage enchant.
So my guess is that Zed_ thinks those enchantments are useless for a minion player compared to (say) the ones that boost an offering, or give a utility effect to a particular minion. -------------------------------------- *(except dominating blow, which is 30% increased minion damage, because f*** dominating blow, right?) Are you guys sure the enchantment will delete the implicit? Maybe you can have both.

" I would greatly appreciate it if they "fixed" the status of enchantments as singular implicits, but I doubt they will do so. For reference, the reason we know how they work is that if you vaal an enchanted item, it can't have both an enchantment and a corrupted implicit (and on all non-enchantable items types with corrupted implicits, it overwrites the main implicit). |
