This is a mapping improvement (I think)

Tbh, i hope it will work like this:
-You have 4 starting maps dropping in the core merciless game -Start the map unlocks the map on the Atlas -You can drop only maps that are connected in the Atlas This means: No longer low level maps on high level maps and a determined progression through the maps. That would truly awesome. Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

Can any of you say "Atlas of Nerfs"?
Dried peninsula currently a t8 is shown to be a t3 in the ign presentation that you can use the shaper orb on to "upgrade" by 5 levels. And no, it is no longer yellowish; its plain white :D Can't wait for the reveal that gorge is now a t4 :D |

So Chris said that you get random map drops based on the the map you're currently running, adjacent maps to that one, and maps previously found.
My question is: how are maps unlocked? Are they unlocked the moment they drop for you, the moment you use it in a device, when you kill the boss, or have it in your inventory? If it's the moment you have it in your inventory, imagine trading for a Colosseum Map and having it be the only unlocked map in your Atlas. This would mean you only find Colosseum Maps, Conservatory Maps, and you can decide on what maps you 'unlock' for yourself to be able to find...wouldn't this be insanely broke? Also do we have any news as to shaper's orbs? Can they be used multiple times on a single map? T16 tropical island anyone? or if they are permanent buffs to the level of the map? (seems like this is the case in how Chris talks about them) Last edited by Adam320#0268 on Aug 13, 2016, 10:47:38 AM

" We should all be so lucky. |
|
" Well, for example, i still don't (and can't) understand their decision of moving Arsenal map to tier 12. That boss doesn't even have any "threats". AT ALL. So with AoW we will have "tiers" fucked up again... More "legacy" maps (these one are square-shaped, yay). Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it. Happiness requires effort. |

So:
1) You can run infinitely what you want 2) You can level up what you want to play => Easy leveling, more things to do and tweak, but also casualisation. I think it's a GREAT and NEEDED concept, but it also severely casualise the game. Streamers gonna hate. Last edited by galuf#4435 on Aug 13, 2016, 4:31:28 PM
