Unique Maps - What do you think about it?

I'm newbie player in PoE. I have 81 lvl and I need your opinion.
What do you think about Unique Maps? Should I do it or sell? In particular, I'm talking about and Maelström of Chaos Mountain Ledge Map, but not only.

Please tell me something about it.

if you play long enough you will get another one. So I say give it a shot at least once. Most of the unique maps are very funny, in my opinion.

The unique maps are some of the most enjoyable content in the game IMO. Give them a play, just be aware of each one's quirks first.

Unless there is an associated challenge with the map (i.e. Oba's cursed trove for unique strongboxes this league) its more fun and worth your time to just run them. Most of the uni maps are not worth the effort to get sold when you will likely get more loot out of it then the 1-2 chaos it sells for.


But be prepared to be disappointed with these. The rarity does not do what you think it does as a newer player.

My favourite unique maps:
1. Mao Kun - Pretty challenging for the tier and tons of loot.
2. Acton's Nightmare - Just pure fun and also amazing atmosphere thanks to the music.
3. The coward's trial - Guarenteed unique. Need I say more?
4. Whakawairua Tuahu - Even though the boss is the biggest troll since cameria's maul, I actually enjoy this map.
5. Maelström of Chaos - It's just so... different. But it's fun. In my opinion.

How can people still be saying this? Oba's boxes don't count for the challenge. The challenge lists very specific boxes and none of Oba's boxes are on it.

My favorite is Poorjoys Asylum.

If you are really poor and really want guarenteed orbs, sell unique maps.

If not, just run them.

I always run unique maps. They are a lot more fun than the regular maps and help break up the tedium of grinding out maps. Also if you have never done one before, they are always worth doing.


The exception is The Hall of Grandmasters. That map is trash and GGG should feel bad that it even exists.

Although selling might be tempting (and sometimes necessary) for a newer player... the maps are really fun to do (most of the times :) )
