The problem is, a lot of people mistakenly represent themselves as being on the right side of the political spectrum while they are actually expressing left-wing views. For example, some so-called libertarians who are incredibly easily offended by everything and actually want censorship and limitation of personal freedom. If you told them they were being leftist, they would probably (and unsurprisingly) get offended.
