Steam - Failed to start game (unknown error)

Hello,

I could not launch/play Path of Exile on steam after the recent 2.3.2 update. I have tried to verify my game cache on several occasions and in all the occasions I had to re-download 1 file but the game still would not launch. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Path of Exile and restarted my computer but I received the same "Failed to start game" message.

The error fixed itself. I did absolutely nothing. So uhh...yay?

Update: Disregard previous post. The same error re-appeared even though I was able to play for a bit yesterday.

Update 2: I had and removed AVG. Now the game works.
