Curse effect affects curse duration?

I've noticed that 'reduced effect of curses' / 'increased effect of curses' seems to also affect the duration of curses. It appears to be like a more/less multiplier for the amount of time that curses last.

Is this right? It seems really strong if so!

PS: Does 'increased effect of flasks' also increase the duration of flasks? Does 'increased effect of fortify' change the duration of fortify? etc....
Or is this just for curses?

I think you're imagining things dubio.

Anything regarding "effect" is purely the effect of the curse, not the duration. The same with flasks and such.

If "curse effect" affected their duration, and it crossed over to flasks, then I would've noticed that my flasks last longer.

If that were the case, I'd make a flask-oriented build and never anything else.

Yes, you are correct I was imagining it.

I was testing self-cursing with Shackles, and couldn't figure out how to explain the reduced duration of it any other way. (I also forgot I had extra curse duration from Doedre's scorn on the character I was using to test it!)

With further testing, I think something even weirder is happening:

Afaict, even though temp chains says "other effects expire 40% slower", what it *really* does is make all affects expire slower - including the temp chains de/buff - and then reduces the duration it lists for temp chains in your HUD to match.

So in practice, increased curse effect actually *reduces* the duration it shows for temp chains, but increases the time it takes for that duration to expire, so that the effective duration is still the same.

Pretty sneaky, GGG!

Edit: or maybe there is something else going on? In any case, temporal chains is crazy.
