One other possibility to consider though: are you using a loot filter and is it up to date?
Depending on how it is structured, newer items might be accidentally hidden. Chances are you got ninja-looted though :( |

Unless it was specifically mentioned that all the drops were yours, it's entirely possible the person running it thought the Unique was their "Payment" for running it regardless of what dropped.
But, yeah, unless you happened across a very rare bug that nobody has reported on yet, I reckon the runner took the Unique. Whether you were "Scammed" or "Cheated" depends entirely upon the deal you had worked out beforehand. |

I always have to learn things hardway too. No biggie get back on that horse (and build something cheesy like BF totems) and get after it yourself.

" They may have wanted to do the challenge, they may have started and found it way harder than anticipated and been unable to finish and called on aid, they might have even thought there might be a lot more loot around like in Atziri. There's a handful of decent reasons why someone may have given up the Unique to clear the fight, I think it better to acknowledge that one of those may be the case rather than calling someone a scammer/thief when only the OP is able to make that distinction. Heck, they may have just reflexively picked up the Unique Drop without thinking about it and left the party/DC'd/logged/etc. The OP is here, rather than Whispering the person themselves to ask, so I'm assuming they aren't in contact at all. But, yes, there's also the chance they encountered that bug that made the Unique not drop, and it's most likely that they did just take it. |

Just made a search regarding Pale Council not dropping a Unique as I just had this happen to me, so I guess it's not impossible. Sucks when you're poor and lose your keys for no reason :(
