Difficulty mode suggestion (Based on Interview information)
" Wrong. You're not even on topic. You're pretty much saying that this system is a bad idea and the system you're suggesting is the correct approach. I'm not trying to debate which system is better. I said this much several times already. Again, there is enough thread's out there for you to push your ideas on. This topic has nothing to do with adjustable difficulty, but that's the only thing you have in mind. Nearly everything you say is either an insult to me, or you pushing your adjustable difficulty. You tell me this system is flawed and will not work. WHY? That's the kind of feedback this thread is aiming for. I don't care why your idea is better. I have no interest in debating that, what I seek is why this one is bad. I've already said this several times, you keep ignoring it and just keep on preaching. Rather than giving feedback you are trying to undermine (if that's even using the word correctly) the whole subject. |

" I think what he was getting at is that people will choose the path of least resistance. Even if they select a hard difficulty level, they will most often choose the path of least resistance, making the hard difficulty level as easy as possible. That's almost the point of the game, to build a powerful character. The more powerful your character, the easier the game is. If the most powerful characters are too powerful (or the game is just too easy), people will most likely complain that the game is too easy, rather than build themself a gimped character to make the game hard. Of course, some people will do this if they like the game enough, for the extra challenge. So it's not black and white. Last edited by Malice#2426 on Jan 25, 2012, 1:26:32 AM

" No matter how you look at it a harder difficulty provides more challenge than a easier difficulty. Giving the harder difficlty some bonuses (like +1 to loot item levels and 10% more exp) is good to make sure that people don't have a nagging feeling that they are "wasting time" when playing hard instead of easy. |
