[2.6 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: 5 Keystone Horror Summoner [HC/SC/Atziri Viable]

Playing a 5spectre/zombies build and tbh i did not feel the victorios shield was really worth it. The killing speed is more than fast enough without (flame sentinels/revenents for me). And the places where it really mattered, like solo hard bosses, the charges runs out. Oh and in teamplay, they most often do not get the killing shots either.

I went back to using a shield for extra defense, that surely can save me from death from time to time. So consider that if you want to follow this build and feel squishie.

Thanks for the notion of the gloves, gotta get me a pair. Do not think i seen does before.

They've always been good but never close to as good as Flame Sentinels or Evangelists. I must say that for the highest tier maps t14-t15 the Evangelists are better for the boss kill but everything else these fellas will do fine!

Horrors are an odd minion

the defining traits for that monster are:
piercing projectiles (100%)
high hp pools
and an attack that is a split between physical and bleed damage.

they technically barely qualify for what makes a good spectre as their ai has some unfortunate issues
but they do have that built in aoe component via pierce
they do have a damage source that is scalable
and they do have a highish level zone in story mode from which to be drawn from.


the main issues for them as is with most monsters .. is their ai. in the case of horrors they like to get too close for their own good. what this means it is much easier for trash mobs to tie them up in melee (horrors like most ranged mobs have a weaker melee to their excellent ranged attack).


The reason why they can contend with flame sentinels at all is because of the damage scaling via hatred and grip of the council which is made effective via ee (so even monsters with resists still take most of the elemental damage) and the fact that poison is hilariously op. seriously it is retarded how op poison is.

Well their attacks are not split between bleed/physical, it's 100% physical dmg which causes bleeding by 100% of all hits.

Them moving in to melee range is close to never a problem due to the meatshield army we've got. However, their AI is bad as they have a tendancy, simmilar to how Evangelists behave, to not attack and instead run around with their heads up their asses.
And yeah poison is stupidly OP! :P

Solution; Speed them up to minimize the impact of the AI.

Spirit Eater provides you with slightly better utility use from Desecrate and also results in higher dmg output for your minions.
However, Mistress of Sacrifice speeds yourself up so that you can clear maps faster, much faster.

The Frenzy charges are generated by hits, not kills. Just power charges are generated on kill.

The gloves are Prophecy only atm, so i did not put them up as a mandatory unique. The gloves are insanely good for this build!

Heya Ghazzy ty for the build man, always enjoy your guides for the information they put out, what would your idea of uber viable gear look like for a build like this? change the skill tree at all or just the gem choices and the spectres?

Hello, i like the looks of this build and gona try it ASAP. So i am kinda newbie to a whole game and only build i played to 70+ is COC (got to leave it cz trash pc). Since i started playing i wanted to try Summoner and this build caught my eye. So i got a few question, prob gonna have more down the road.

1st what gems should i link with firestorm and flame totem while leveling?
2nd What gems should i level asap? Still Raise Zombie and Desecrate?

For Uber Atziri I'd go low life, use Evangelists and just go crazy on ES gear. Will have a guide coming out for it next week. Not sure if I have time to pull off Uber kill on it by then, but hopefully. It is doable but I would as usual, not recommend summoners for Uber farming. We have several confirmed kills with that build for it.

Heya!

Well, let's get to it;

1) You've got 2 options here;
1st: Ancestral Bond (2x totems) which forces your Firestorm to be: Firestorm - Trap - Multitrap (otherwise it wont do dmg) which makes your Flame Totem early on have: Flame totem - added lightning - added cold (switch any for Faster Casting and the other for Controlled Destruction) when 4L add any of the previous ones till you can get yourself Faster Projectile and you're home free.

Is it just the fact that it uses flame sentinels? Since we know summoners aren't great for atziri just wondering what the main difference is

2nd question...should I use a tabula, or a 5l mortis?

Summoners are great for Atziri just like many other builds, it's uber that's the problem!

5L Vis Mortis > Tabula (due to the extra spectre we gain which can be seen as an indirect more dmg multiplier)

The main differences are the choice of spectres, the other differences comes down to a tweaked skilltree & gem setup (outside the main link spectres of course). We use different auras and the playstyle is very different.
