[2.6 / 3.0] BLADE VORTEX OBLITERATION



Short question, were do you get the life leech for vaal pact? You wrote blood magic in one of your vids, but the skilltree doesnt goes to the keystone? should i respec a few point or did you use a gem?

Had a char with full reset of the tree and now i lvl the gems, but why is the cwdt gem only lvl 1. my experience with dualflame totem was cwdt a lil bit higher for immortal call. the Curse on hit only works with the 2nd blade vortex or also with the main gem?

Allright.. I get life leech, and mana leech too, from the berserker ascendency class. The first 2 points i take, in normal lab, give me 1% life and mana leech (2% if killed recently).
In the video where I wrote Blood Magic I was referring to the map mod I run; you don't have to take neither the keystone nor the gem. It was just intended to show that Blood magic doesn't affect you in any way.

Cwdt level is optional, but I like it level 1, this way it procs almost every time I get hit (immortall call duration doesn't scale with levels if you have no endurance charges). The curse on hit setup gets applied just by the blade vortex in the cwdt setup (the low level one), which starts rotating after i get hit and keep cursing every monster around my character for the next 9.5 seconds.

Curse on hit dont cast blade vortex, it isnt a curse only spell.

the leech i did looked at the ascendancy, thx for the hint.

I try to explain better.. In the 4 link setup I have:
- Cwdt
- blade vortex
- curse on hit
- curse you want to use (in my case vulnerability)

When I get hit and the damage is enough to proc cwdt, this gem (cwdt) casts blade vortex and it starts spinning for the following 9.5 seconds. Every monster that gets hit by this blade vortex, which is a spell, get cursed by the effect of CoH, with the appropriate curse (vulnerability).

Edit. As I just noticed, some time ago they actually removed the chance to use such setup, disenabling skills supported by multiple trigger gems. So we can only rely on the other cwdt setup, the one linked directly to the curse.

should not be considered, at least in this specific istance. I suppose it works this way because the curse is high level, so it's not actually supported by CWDT itself, which just affects blade vortex.

Update 21/6.

Just reached level 88 and changed the skill tree a bit, I've taken Unwavering Stance and a bit more life, while dropping the two crit clusters I had before. I believe the increased survivability and stun immunity is worth the little loss in DPS (it's mostly a tootip loss, in terms of actual damage I lost pretty much nothing).
If I'll have the patience to reach level 90 I think I'm gonna complete this new skill tree

i try a new setup, CoC+Assasins mark+BV+molten shell as def, but it dont proc. atm i have 12,8 crit chance (ok i should get more crit) but i never see the mark nor the shell. what did i wrong or is its just the crit chance? any hint for the tree to get a few passives?

The problem is that CoC need an attack (melee or ranged, but not spells) to proc the linked spells. In that setup you have just 3 spells, but no attacks to actually proc them. In this build I don't suggest using any kind of CoC setup, since you have no real and reliable way to make them work. If you really want molten shell you can self cast it or link it in a CWDT setup; Anyway, since you are not scaling armour in any signifcant way, it's not really worth it in my opinion.

thx i knew there was a catch, ok the cwdt. any hints to my equip. its just what a had/got in a few min to test the build :D atm i feel like i need more mana, cause the cwdt setup proc realy often and 1k with haste to 500 isnt much when 1-3 times cwdt procs.
I think if you are not using the Essence worm unique ring (that allows you to use an aura without mana reservation) you should either sacrifice haste or Mind over Matter; neither of those are mandatory, and sacrificing one of them is very beneficial for your mana pool.
As you know the equip you are using is not optimal, you should try to get as much life as you can, but I think it's ok to start the build and test it. I would not use Increased Duration in the main blade vortex setup, if you've already taken the duration nodes in the tree your blade vortex should last 9.5 seconds, which is already a pretty long time. You can swap it out with Increased AOE, Added Chaos, Iron Will (if you have enough STR to make it worth) or empower (if you have one at least level 2/3).
