Impact and AoE skills

Impact is pretty much melee splash to single target skills with the hefty drawback of 50% less damage to surrounding targets.
In this case where AoE skills does not gain the splash damage since they are not single-target skills, do they get the drawback and/or benefit from the % increase radius of area skills? I am just wondering since I am mulling over Headsman or Impact as my 8th ascendancy point for Lacerate. Thank you. Headsman easily, it also has 20% more damage.

Yea, I know Headsman is too good to pass up, but I am just wondering if AoE skills are penalized by going Impact with the whole the 50% less damage to surrounding targets. Otherwise, permanent 20% increased AoE is tempting to catch up to Reave's AoE (since I already got 15% from Doomsower and 25% from the skill itself, so I am already hitting pretty far).

No they arent supported by this node so they do not get the downside.
Impact/melee splash are a donut shapped effect added on monotarget skills that deal lower damage than the primary strike, but if you use an aoe you arent using this donut effect. I will never be good but always I try to improve. Last edited by Geisalt#1772 on Jun 13, 2016, 2:36:57 AM

Impact will boost Reave's AoE without penalising it at all.

Might as well go Headsman on the safe side, for reflect. Thank you, Geisalt for explaining since I wanted to make sure I understood what Impact does.
