Do many people play on Standard league?
|
I am a new player and I have created a standard league character, mainly because I did not want to get involved with temp mechanics, and want to focus on solely learning the game. My question however, as you have read in the title, do many people even play this mode?
I know their are different economies in each, and that is to be expected, but I worry that the majority of the player base are playing in the temp league mode, much like they do in Diablo 3 (like I myself do) Should I not get comfortable here, or is it just as vibrant? Thanks guys Last edited by SgtSilock88#1993 on Jun 12, 2016, 3:14:29 PM Last bumped on Jun 13, 2016, 2:39:29 PM

When GGG last posted stats about how players are distributed, it was around 50% in SC league,25% HC league and 25% in standard SC ( and about 10 people I standard HC)

" I would say give the temp league a shot, this time around there isn't much of a change from the core game if you aren't getting prophecies. If the new mechanics don't interest you, you'll have plenty of silver coins to sell to make a bit of extra currency. The items are a bit cheaper and easier to obtain since a good percentage of the player base is playing there. Plus, once the league ends everything moves to standard so you don't lose anything if you end up deciding temp leagues aren't for you. As a bonus, the challenges this league are pretty easy so you may get a free mtx out of it. :) There is also nothing wrong with choosing to stick with standard, the only real difference is some of the items you may want will likely be more expensive. I don't think you can go wrong either way TBH. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

" This. I would definitely recommend to give the challenge league a shot. |

I always recommend the current league. You get moved to standard at the end anyway, everyone starts fresh and the mechanics of the league are moved to standard at the end anyway.
There really is no reasons unless you have a friend that plays standard or something and you want to play with them. Additionally there are limited edition rewards this league even if you can do all of them getting to at least 12 shouldn't be and issue. Last edited by Rigrot#7423 on Jun 12, 2016, 4:20:07 PM

This league is actually quite beginner friendly. Past leagues not so much. You're not going to get prophesies that get you in trouble early on.

Ahh yes, warbands. That was probably THE WORST offender for being unfriendly to new players. Even experienced players like myself had trouble, even with it being my 4th or 5th league.
As others have said, play the temp one. You'll be on a far more even playing field, as people have only had around a week and a half to gather gear and currency, versus the 5+ years on standard Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.
