[Solved] GetLogicalProcessorInformation
Hello,
After searching for a long time, i've found the solution, so i think it's good to have it written here, in case anyone else get this error message. (An error message about GetLogicalProcessorInformation when you try to start the game). This message seems to occur when you try to install the game on some microsoft windows systems. The solution is to update the windows system, to a newer service pack. (I've found the solution on forums in weird languages that i don't speak, but in the end, i still got that.). And anyway: for anyone that want to use microsoft windows, and play path of exile on it: the drive where you install path of exile must not be a fat32 drive, or you'll get a "not enough space" error, no matter how much free space you have. NTFS format seems to work. (It's because the game tries to create a file of more than 2GB in the "allocating space" step, and the fat32 format does not allow that). Maybe i should also leave here the solution to fix the last problem i had when starting the game: it said i had no device that supported direct3D. The solution was to update directX, and then, everything worked fine. (Yes, windows is something complex and counter-intuitive to get working). To find the update for directX, you have to look for a "redist" file on the microsoft website.
Spoiler
Anyway, a friend of mine advised me to try this game. This game is supposed to be everything i like. But the technology of the game seems too outdated to run on my computer. So i had to emulate an old computer to make the game run. My computer is a pure-64 bit multi-processor linux-operated brand new computer. (No support for 32 bits). The game was in the list of playonlinux games, so i was supposed to be able to get it running in only 1 click. But the game (or at least it's install program) seems to be made in 32 bits. My hardware has no support for 32 bit, so i had to emulate a 32 bit computer. Seems the game seems to be made for the microsoft-windows system, I've managed to get an install cd-rom of windows xp. I made a virtual machine on which i installed that system. But then, i spent hours trying to understand why the game failed to start, issuing a windows with GetLogicalProcessorInformation ... Yes, i know, everything is always very complex and hard to get working in the microsoft world ... I'm a little too used to get anything working with only 1 click on linux (download, install, configuration, customization and running being made automatically after the single click). Anyway, after updating the emulated windows xp from SP2 to SP3, pathofexile is now working. Last edited by pasmoi42#2804 on Jun 12, 2016, 1:56:40 AM Last bumped on Jun 15, 2016, 11:18:25 AM

Well I guess it's the end of the road for the computer I'm running XP sp2 on. I have to run XP sp2 because the old $7000 program will only run on it. Why is it $7000? Everyone wants to make games but no one wants make mechanical design software :-(
