Seriously bad lag.

Unable to play on the DC realm because of lag:


Packet loss is super low but the worst case time is horrible at over 2.9 seconds of latency. The averages are well under 100 ms but the latency spikes are definitely killing QoP. Just what in the world has GGG changed within PoE to kill our ability to play at a reasonably descent level of smoothness? I never experienced this bad of QoP even with Perandus chest guardians. Prophecy is certainly going down as the worst temp league in PoE history if GGG can't get a handle on the problem and fix it or do something about NetworkLayer's shitty backbone. Has the Internet backbones suddenly gotten overloaded and our PoE packets can't get through fast enough?

In looking back on my 6-7-16 tests and subsequent good playing of PoE to the DC realm the worst latency at the last hop was only 218 ms. Today it is over 2 seconds and explains why I can't play due to lag. NetworkLayer has got some serious problems in keeping the latency consistently low. Some days it's good, many days such as today it's not. I hope GGG is reading these posts and working to get NetworkLayer to deliver our PoE game packets quicker all the time.


Edit: After looking at the WinMTR numbers for awhile it appears that my Quest pings are way too high and thus the NetworkLayer pings are suffering from Quest's poor performance. Damn that as GGG can't control the intermediate data carriers that my PoE game packets must traverse to get from my Cape Coral Florida home (Shire) all the way to the DC realm and back. We are at the mercy of these fiber data carriers and if they delay our packets then it's no wonder PoE is stuttering like crazy.

Too bad CenturyLink bought Qwest a few years back. Our new 200 Mbps fiber from CenturyLink has increased my average download speed from 17 to 21 Mbps and upload from 11 to 14 Mbps according to Speedtest.net testing but since CenturyLink owns Quest my PoE data is traveling over some of their fiber and routers so the net result is bad PoE QoP.

Amazing that my link to Dallas isn't dropping any packets at all. Too bad that my average latency to Dallas is well over 100 ms so even though the worst latency is much lower the average is going to kill me. I'm damned if I do play on the DC realm and damned if I play on the Dallas realm.
