on blade vortex + steam(?)

Hey, I'm also having issues crashing today with blade vortex. One of my friends is also using blade vortex but hasn't crashed once. I'm on steam, he isn't.
I've also noticed that it only crashes after blade vortex drops - if I keep it up, it's fine. Last bumped on Jun 4, 2016, 1:51:07 PM

update: when my friend lets his blade vortex drop to zero, it crashes my game. Heh. I'm running windows 7. Other friend using steam on windows 10 doesn't crash.

Also trying to run Blade Vortex on Steam. When stacks drop it crashes my whole party.

Just crashed 3 times on this last map with blade vortex, switched to another gem and didn't crash again. Not sure if blade vortex is still causing issues after this early after noon patch but yeah.

I was getting this pretty much every time Blade Vortex dropped its last stack, and tbh I was about ready to just sack POE off once again until they fixed it.
However I did instead try a few things to fix it and seem to have found a solution. I changed the PathofExileSteam.exe Compatibility mode to "Windows XP Service Pack 3" and "Run as Administrator" and it hasn't crashed since. WTF this has to do with anything I've no idea (memory management?) but whatever, it's stopped the crashing btw. I'm on Windows 7, Steam POE, so I can't say if this resolves on your system, but worth a try if you have the option. |
