Bismuth Flask should give +max all elemental resists

Quicksilvers are much better for the following reasons:

1. when you actually need resists: you are making a new character without resources (stuff like goldrim)
2. You can get a quicksilver guaranteed from medicine chest quest
3. The quicksilver you receive can be ilvl 1-4 depending on how many mobs u killed (your level). This means the mod pool you can roll from is super consistent: If you choose to be lvl 3 or lower and get flask, you can only roll two suffixes: stun recovery and resists. At lvl 4 u can also get of heat which is pretty good as well.
4. Bismuth flask is pretty much drop only. If you find one at lvl 8 your in luck cuz u can get the upgrade to quicksilver of resistances : Bismuth of adrenaline. But typically your bismuth is not exactly lvl 8 and the mod pool is even larger, if possibly rolling reflexes, iron skin, and other stuff ...

It's almost never worth alterating unless its ilvl 1-3 in new league cuz you have at least 50% chance with just a transmute to get resists

What are pros of bismuth?
1. Last longer than quicksilver by tiny bit
2. More resistances than quicksilver of resists

I guess if you happened to find and transmute a bismuth of adrenaline you can just treat it as a quicksilver flask if you were to use a quicksilver of resistances

But you would never use bismuth anyways as a lategame flask because being overcapped is just better, curse removal flask is also pretty much a staple of any character, and flask of exile has so many insanely powerful flasks right now.
Whoa, they should offer bismuth from Medicine Chest quest, that would be so cool, they should change that quest's rewards. Maybe Bismuth, Quick, and Diamond from that quest? That would offer some interesting choices.

can't believe this is seriously being suggested

that is, assuming the suggestion is actually serious

okay nevermind labyrinth, fix dx9 blackscreen instead...
I found a Bismuth in this new league, transmuted it and got +Resist and faster Recharging. So I decided to use it.

Elemental damage isn't a serious threat in the early game, and by the time it started to become a threat, I already had enough resists on my gear that the correct colored single-resist flask would have outclassed it (if only I had found a fire resist flask).

Speed is still the main resource for aid in leveling, so Quicksilvers beat it in the scenario where Bismuth makes the most sense. Furthermore, when I did need protection, it was from physical attacks, where Bismuth offers no help. I wonder what the purpose of the Bismuth flask is. It doesn't seem to have any.
What about adding an elemental reflection mod to the flask? I mean sure it's a bit counterproductive since the flask is meant to reduce damage taken and thus damage reflected, but I think it would at least give it a little something to make it stand out. Besides, end game even capped you still take substantial damage from elemental sources so it could be interesting.

So still mostly useless, but a bit less so.

Each additional % of maximum resistance is more effective than previous.

at 96% max res additional 2% max res = "100% more ehp"
at 90% max res additional 2% max res = "20% more ehp"

"reduced elemental damage taken" would be multiplicative, therefore the flask wouldn't become "broken" with stacked max resistances. And it still would be useful for any "75% max res" build.

50% is just a suggestion. it could be 33% or even 28%.

Sure it wouldn't be broken. Because it would be broken as fuck. Lol.
Anyone who doesn't stack max resist (which is 99% of characters) would use it. Because why not? :v

But you are right about flask usefulness - it is pretty useless, given that it is hard to get, and you are pretty much better of with rolling "X additional elemental resistances" on any utility flask.

Making it extra-long duration and/or low charge consuming flask would make it potentially good for any character that relies on certain flask effect (like curse immunity, or the like) - you could even count resists from a flask to your cap, but with a risk of you running dry while there are still elemental-hitting enemies.
And by long duration, I don't mean its current 5 seconds - I mean something like 6-8. :v (also, lower charges used)

They should make the flask 6 seconds and offer it from medicine chest quest, that'd be neat.

Is the 35% to resists only during the flask effect or just for being in your flask belt?
