For all his technology, I responded to Dominus Rhetoric...

"Um yes yes the touch of God... where the fuck is the elevator? All fucking high and mighty and yet you couldn't build s freaking elevator?! No wonder many exiles don't make it... They die from exhaustion climbing those damn stairs. "

Dominus looked at me confused...

"Yes I know the touch of God... You haven't answered my question. "

Dominus looks at me still confused and summons his minions...

"Well now I understand why your minions walk like that... Poor things are fucking exhausted."

After killing his minions Dominus tries to summon more minions but nothing...

"If you're wondering why your minions aren't here yet... Take a wild guess... Their still walking up the damn stairs... Die!!!"

There is actually an elevator. Well, somewhat - if you pay attention you can see some of the heretics climbing out of that device in the middle of his battlefield. You can also see those poor Wojaks sitting in it a floor or two below.
Would be funny if it weren't for the fact that his summons come out of the tubes, and not up the stairs.

Unfortunately, Piety was simply a puppet of a greater force. You've cut the strings but the master remains: Dominus.

That key you've picked up, I heard the Blackguards talk of it. It's the one key to the Sceptre of God, on the northern edge of the Blackguard encampment. Only Piety was permitted to carry it.

Dominus accessed his laboratory at the summit of the tower via a pulley system rigged to the outside wall. That way will be barred to you, and I heard of no-one, not even Piety, going in or coming out of the lower levels.

Go with care, exile. I can't imagine what's inside that tower if even Piety and Dominus feared to tread its steps.

Maybe know the lore before writing fanfic? ;)

I added a smiley before you answered so it would sound not so high and mighty, check it out! :P

Actually, some thread on reddit where too many strange people answered "'played for thousands of hours, this game haz story?" basically triggered this.
