What is point of movement skills other than whirling blades?


flame dash suck because of 3 charges
leap slam suck becasue of range
lightning warp suck becasue it bug out if you have too much cast speed and reduced duration
phase run suck becasue.... idk never used it.


whirling blades? I link it with faster attacks and dash dash dash dash dash dash dash dash dash dash for ever and ever.

I don't even use wand on my non crit caster but crap dagger becasue it make clearing maps much better.

you can use dagger, claw or sword.
Only time when I would not use WB is when I would use bow. But I have seen bow users who swap bow to doagger just to move and it was still better than using blink arrow.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wb is not only great movement skill but also awesome defensive skill to dodge all attacks game throw at you.

Yea claws and swords ... 80% use daggers, though so it's easy to forget :D
My favorite is lightning warp tbh, as its range is unmatched. Only toons I don't use it is summoners with inc duration nodes (even then it's great for the lab) and for melee toons if that ever happens again.
I'd even use phase run, especially on said summoners but there are just not enough hotkeys :(

Blink Arrow and Mirror Arrow are both very nice if you are running a Bow.
And Phase Run is very sweet if you are running a Melee Build because not only can you get a nice burst of speed to pull out of shitty situations but you can also buff your damage by quite a bit as well.

Theres other really useful movement skills out there that work well people just run WBs because its assumed to eb the best because everyone runs it but if you try out and get used to the other skills they have their place and work well. WBs is just crazy good with APS scaling and easier to use all round Thats why people mainly prefer it over the others.

Flame Dash is by far my least favorite and mainly for the same reason most other dont like it.. That 3 charges shit needs to go. Lightning Warp is about the best one besides WBs if you are not running a dagger.

I use movement skills almost exclusively for traversing cliffs and gaps, so I've never found the need for using Daggers.

That should already be fixed to my knowledge.

Leap slam is a good option already and can clear gaps.

Flame dash needs its old range back.


The big problem with whirling blades is just Fortify.
Not everybody has the goal of rush rush rushing through maps as fast as possible to get their XP per hour as high as they can. It seems pretty obvious what the point of the other movement skills is. They allow players to move from one location to another more easily.

I still think it's dumb for Flame Dash to have the charge limitation, though. Fixing the bug that killed its range was bad enough. I just don't use it in its current, terrible state, even on builds that would actually want a non-duration movement skill that uses cast speed. It badly needs some buffs.

The biggest issue with Whirling Blades right now is the Fortify gem. It shouldn't exist. The fortify effect should be rolled into main damage skills that require players to get super close to monsters at all times. Heavy Strike should have built in fortify. Molten Strike should have built in fortify. If a monster has to close enough to punch you while you're hitting it, you get fortify.

Whirling Blades should have never been able to provide a damage reduction effect like that. Adding the Fortify gem to POE was a huge mistake on GGG's part. I really hope they don't think it's too late to correct that mistake.
There is no point unless they buff the other movement skills being without a dagger is pretty a terrible idea.

And the idea of nerfing whirling blades while the other movement skills suck ass is not exactly a good thing.
