Cannot find a compatible direct3d . . .

HP 6200 Pro i7-2600...played POE on its integrated graphics just fine.
Put in a HD 6450 Radeon today, and now when I try to open the game (monitor is connected to the card) it won't open, but says cannot find a compatible direct3d ...very frustrating. Driver is recognized and up to date prior as well as having restarted the computer. Any ideas?! Last bumped on Apr 29, 2016, 6:39:18 AM

When you installed the new card did the onboard video disable, or are they both still active? You could try making sure hybrid video / dual graphics is also disabled, but I'd be more inclined to think it is something you may have to go into the BIOS to disable...or from the device manager, rather than through your control centre.

Rename c:\Users\{your_windows_username}\My Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\production_Config.ini to production_Config.ini.bak
Start the game, a new ini file will be created and it should auto-detect your new hardware and not try to look for you old graphics adapter listed in the .ini file. Last edited by smurfynz on Apr 29, 2016, 6:40:42 AM
