Infinite difficulty scaling content

I waited with this idea because everytime I said that maps are not fulfilling their endgame expectation anymore someone came and accused me of not being lvl 100 yet and therefore I have no right to complain about difficulty cap of maps.

Since I did reach level 100 some time ago, I'm going to complain again. And I have to say that I felt exactly same 2, 5 or even 10 levels before. Level means very little when it comes to difficulty in an endgame.

It was said many times that maps are gated behind RNG, not difficulty... don't get me wrong I agree they have to be gated this way because otherwise it would be extremely easy to get to level 100 if you would have piles of T15 maps. Even now I consider it quite easy. I reached lvl 100 via T15/14 rotations but as long as I ended up with them after reaching 100, I don't see a single reason why I should keep investing loads of currency (chiseling maps, chaosing high quant etc) to get as many maps as possible. This means I'm not able to sustain high tier maps. Alternative would be to keep running rotations but personally I hate them. They are laggy, you cannot slack, you cannot trade and difficulty is trivialized anyway. Profits? I don't know... maybe faster gem leveling. Therefore what I'm forced to do now is just alch on map and go. This way I can sustain T11 with occasional spikes to T12/13. And even if I would be able to sustain T15 it wouldn't change a damn thing. Monsters in T15 are similar trash like any other in prevous maps and bosses... well Malachai is difficult (imho its just because of bad design). Rest is similar like previous bosses.

---------------------------------------------------
What I propose?

- I know that GGG will never design content only for lvl 100 players. We are minority. It would have to be available for everyone at higher levels while it cannot replace existing map system, it should be perceived as alternative end game parallel to maps.
- Also I know that solution would require something that does not consume loads of precious development time, therefore something that would recycle existing content.
- It would have to be infinite scaling otherwise you would end up in exactly same position just few moments later.

Here is it:

When you would be satisfied with your character level you could buy unique item from Zana. This item combined in a map device with any rare map would make the map being filled by monsters of item's level while keeping map's mods and a tile. Resulting map WOULD NOT GIVE YOUR CHARACTER XP AND ANY MAP DROPS except unique ones. Boss kill would drop the same unique item with +1 level.

Why combination with a rare map? Because mods are the thing which makes the huge part of difficulty, right? And you could roll the mods the way you want (solves issue with some disabling mods like Blood Magic).

So, why would anyone run such maps? Well you could chill farming whatever level you are comfortable with, while not being forced to invest shitload of currency on something what is not challenging for you anyway. Loot would be same as high level maps, affected by mods rolled on rare map. You could chose the tile you want instead of being forced to run same 4 tiles of sustainable maps over and over.

Why to run +1? First of all you coul race for difficulty. Higher level higher epeen, right? I would implement some kind of reward from every +1 boss kill. Still thinking about it tho.

There are few issues that would need to be solved somehow. For example how to be able to run same level over and over instead of doing +1 or running from starting point.

Sorry for wall of text. What do you think?

If you think the game is so damn easy, why dont you start from 0 with a heavy strike build?? Of course you wont get any help from your main character.

Because I like my character and I like min maxing. Honestly last thing I would want to do is to reset every few months or weeks.

I know I'm not alone, I knew many players feeling it the same way. But many left already because GGG just dont give a damn about such players.

Long time ago. I (and many other people) suggested something simillar to labirynth, which is possibly ggg answer to those suggestions, which if it is it has pretty much missed idea behind what we wanted:

I do enjoy labirynht to some extent, however, its nowhere near endgame content

Lab is fine, but monsters are low level therefore they die as soon as I scratch them.

I see the potential but as you said, its not where it should be. Feels like GGG had their hands tied with XP gain from monsters again. You simply cant have easily accessible infinite system which would make maps pointless.

Hence my idea to link them both, use maps to create chains, which if you choose corectly, you can advance in monster level/strenght/iiq iir etc. Some brainstornimg would give great ideas about it (or make developement go other way and leave us with labirynth).

I honestly dont care that much how exactly infinite scaling would be implemented. This is just what I came up with. Im not fool and I know that even if GGG would like the idea, result could be completely different. If your idea counts with infinite scaling of difficulty - you have my vote.
Yay now i have five votes (includng mine), at this rate in 2020 there will be 10 of us. Cant wait!

/sarcasm it doesnt seem popular *sadface*

Yea thing is that many players which don't find "reset every few weeks" approach appealing left ages ago. Tho who stayed most probably don't know that someone just posted such idea. And those who do... tradaaa its 5 of us. Yea that is pretty much how it works.
