Lightning to chaos?

Yeah, both options are definitely worth a try.

Wow nice projectile speed. Definitely worth trying FP then I think. FP has piercing so has better coverage than fireball, and those fireball gems aren't so great for totems I think because enemies tend to run up to totems a lot. For self-cast fireball the AoE can get really insane though.

I was thinking the same...
20% Projectile Speed enchant, mmm

So, can you convert 100% Lightning to Chaos? No. Can you get good enough? I think so.

Call of the Brotherhood x2 = 100% Lightning to Cold

23/23% Corrupted Cold to Fire Support Gem = 91.43% Cold to Fire

Legacy Consuming Dark (75% Fire to Chaos) and Infernal Mantle (25% Fire to Chaos) = 100% Fire to Chaos
or alternatively
Consuming Dark x2 = 100% Fire to Chaos

Cold to Fire Math

Cold to Fire support gem converts 50% of Cold damage to Fire. It also adds 32% as additional Fire damage at level 23. Then if it's corrupted to 23% quality, it increases your fire damage by 11.5%.

Basically you end up with (50%+32%)*1.115=91.43%.

On top of this, since only 50% was converted, you still have 50% of it as cold. Your final percentages of the original amount of cold damage are 50% as Cold Damage and 91.43% as Fire Damage for a total of 141.43% of original damage.

Damage increase from quality isn't local to the gem, 82% of original damage is the best you can get. If we account for the support slot that's a considerable damage loss, I suppose it's fine if the build can take it.

The damage increase is global, which includes the gem, and specifically only affects the gem if he has nothing else that increases Fire Damage (passives, gear, etc).

As to the loss of a gem slot to accommodate this, I think the bigger loss would be all the gear slots required for this.

Sure, 12% increased cold and fire would be a considerable damage boost if he had no other increases of any kind. We're looking at 3-4% more damage or something for an average build, that's hardly worth the mention, or the price.

Just answering the question; not getting into the economics, nor viability of it.
Thanks for replies guys, I realize that will be better (and cheaper) with Freezing Pulse, I'ts not the same, Spark at max critical chance and 12 projectiles per totem is awesome.

I was testing Freezing pulse totems, it's at 47k DPS unbuffed and 64K with vaal haste and Atziri promise, no one charge is used in this build; 4 Projectiles per totem and 125% projectile speed and 89% crit chance (no power charges or diamond flask).

I think it's time to test the "Chaos Pulser" numbers are strong.
Question is...
...Since Freezing Pulse has 100% pierce chance... Void Manipulation will give more damage than Pierce Support gem?

Well definetelly i will try this out later.

Yeah, you'll get 25% reduced damage too but that penalty is honestly a joke. If they put it there to deter builds that convert elemental to chaos it does about as good of a job of it as Controlled Destruction in putting off crit builds.

Voltaxic spark builds are the most cookie cutter builds this league, and a friend of mine played voltaxic crit arc, again with great results. It sounds a bit silly to play a bow caster but unfortunately this is the way to go if you want chaos conversion.
You have to be realistic about these things.
