A few questions about minions
|
Hi, i try to wrap my head around the game mechanic of minions.
As i understand it, a passive node need to have "minion" in the wording for it to apply to minions. But there are some things i wonder about. If a minion deal Chaos damage (like, summon skeleton + poison) will the passive node "12% increased chaos damage" apply to chaos damage dealt by the skeleton? Elemental damage nodes, will they work for my minions if they attack with an element? crit chance nodes, do they apply to my minions? If i summon a minion with mines/traps will the "increased trap/mine damage" increase minion damage? i find the mechanic around minions a bit confusing, is there a simple way to explain it for a simple and old mind? :P i tried to ask around, but got different answers so if someone could help it would be appreciated :) -Zims- Last bumped on Apr 4, 2016, 8:25:22 AM

I think a safe rule of thumb is that if the passive doesn't explicitly say minions, it does not impact minions.
You taking an 'increased chaos damage' node will not increase your minions chaos damage. You taking crit chance nodes will not affect minions. You summoning a minion using trap/mine will not deal more damage, I dont think? Not 100% on this but am pretty sure! ~Myth Last edited by Mythkiller#1811 on Apr 4, 2016, 8:15:35 AM

" Correct, unless said Minion is using a Trap Skill (Undying Alchemists have a Trap for example). :P A Zombie does not deal Trap Damage, and thus won't benefit from the Trap Support in any way. ------ "Minions are not you". |

" I think OP is refering to trap/mine passives from the passive tree. Those will never affect minions (RIP selfless leadership), even when the minion is supported with the trap or mine support and/or is using traps/mines themselves. My supporter items: Victario's Charity and The Forsaken
