Temp Chains "Other Effects Expire Slower" Affected by Curse Effect?
As I understand it, "Other effects expire slower" on Temporal Chains works like this:
Let s = percent effects expire slower and d = base duration of effect. Then the modified duration is given by d/(1-s). For example, if s = the default 40% and d = 6 sec, the modified duration will be 10 sec. If the above is true, does this s value get modified by curse effect? In other words, will having 150% increased curse effect (s = 100%) mean that my effects never expire on cursed targets? Or does the game crash with a divide by 0? 1) It is impossible to go over 100% curse effectiveness, even worse for 150% (as in, there aren't enough bonuses in the game to get there)
2) 150% curse effect would make "Other effects on Cursed enemies expire 40% slower" into "Other effects on Cursed enemies expire 100% slower", and that just means double the duration, nothing more. Last edited by Adser#1634 on Apr 3, 2016, 10:49:40 PM

1. This is untrue. Although it is highly impractical to max curse effectiveness, since you need to use every single available passive point up to level 100 and the 3 extra Scion Ascendant passives, you can exceed 150% curse effectiveness. 20% (all curse effect nodes) + 84% (Conqueror's Potency in 21/21 Jewel Sockets) + 13% (Blasphemy socketed in a 6% quality Haku item) + 18% (Dying Breath for curses) + 18% (Dying Breath for auras, other aura effects read non-curse only) + 20% (Enchantment for specific curse effect) = 173% curse effectiveness.
2. That is not how "Other effects expire x% slower" works, and you are confusing it with "x% increased duration". It was confirmed somewhere that when Temporal Chains had "Other effects expire 50% slower", the effect duration was already doubled, so increasing that further should make the effect last even longer. |

" Conquerors Potency is limited to 1. So you are at 93%, meaning Curses would expire 0,93*0,5+0,5 = 0,465+0,5 = 0,965 = 96,5% times slower I'm unsure if this effect is magnified, tho. You'd need to check that yourself. But if it was, with Shackles of the Wretched, you could potentially keep yourself buffed with certain buffs almost permanently (Almost, because Curse effectivness is lowered on players, afaik). The drawback is that you wouldn't be able to move, almost at all. :V Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge. " Can't believe I missed the potency limit. I was originally considering an easy permanent freeze/ignite build, but Shackles of the Wretched sounds interesting. You could use the Juggernaut Unstoppable to remove the slow, but you'd have to give up the 18% aura effect from Dying Breath since Blasphemy does not work with shackles... (With Blasphemy) Although Temporal Chains used to have 50% slow iirc, it is now only 40%, so I get (1+0.93)*0.40=77.2% slower, which comes out to an effective duration of 4.39 times the base duration. Seems strong, so hopefully the "Other effects expire slower" does scale. |

Yeah, well, actually, forgot about the Juggernaut. When I think about it now, I have some crazy idea.
Not going to give it away, but I'm just going to tip that there are means to be immune to physical, chaos and elemental damage. :D 2 of them are duration based. :v Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

Having similar ideas myself... Not sure how easy to cap maximum resists tho.

Curse effectiveness does affect the "Other effects expire slower" part of Temporal Chains.
Before any of you commits to a build you might wanna factor in that Temporal Chains innately has 40% reduced curses effectiveness on players. My supporter items: Victario's Charity and The Forsaken Last edited by Mokihiki#2900 on Apr 4, 2016, 12:38:21 PM
