Can you change difficulty?

can you change the difficulty level that your character is on? i started my character on default but im finding it too easy.

Nope. Only way to change difficulty is to complete the game, it unlocks the next one for that character and that character only.
You will also probably find that the game gets easier as you play if your build is any decent. The only real difficulty spike will be when you finish the game 4 times and advance into Chaos. |

" I beg to differ, I myself find the game gets significantly harder as you progress through each difficulty and I have heard many people express the same. Especially for someone who's just starting, they will likely notice a big jump in mob health + incoming damage once they've finished normal and on to cruel and upwards. |

The only reason the "cruel spike" exists is because there is like a 3-4 level jump between normal and cruel.
